Top 10 overrated players in FIFA 15

While we analysed the best young players in the game for career mode, many of us have also noticed the fact that some players have been overrated in the game. Some of the names on this list are great players, but since EA clearly mentioned that the ratings are based on the performances over the last 12 months, we feel that some of them are not justified. Here are the top 10 overrated players in FIFA 15:

#10 Juan Mata (Spain)

Top 10 overrated players in FIFA 15

FIFA 15 rating: 85

A lot of things changed in Mata’s career in the last one year. He hardly played during the first 6 months at Chelsea, and after getting transferred to United, he made 15 appearances scoring 6 goals. Not to forget Spain’s horror show in the World Cup, he should have been rated at 83 or 84.

#9 James Rodriguez (Colombia)

Top 10 overrated players in FIFA 15

FIFA 15 rating: 86

One good World Cup and he jumps all the way to 86 from 83. The 22 year old certainly has the potential to become a great one day, but EA probably overrated him when you consider the fact that he didn’t exactly set the French league on fire with AS Monaco prior to the World Cup.

#8 Dani Alves (Brazil)

Top 10 overrated players in FIFA 15

FIFA 15 rating: 83

Can you actually believe the fact that Dani Alves is the highest rated right back in FIFA 15? Is this because of the shortage of top class right backs in the world right now or is it because of the fact that EA really does think that he is the best? Whatever the reason may be, he should have been downgraded more.

#7 Wayne Rooney (England)

FIFA 15 rating: 86

Yet another disappointing performance on the World stage for Rooney and England, and despite that he is rated 86. When you consider the fact that Diego Costa is rated 85 in the game after netting 36 times for Atletico, winning the league and making the CL finals, the talismanic English striker did not deserve more than 84.

#6 Mesut Ozil (Germany)

Top 10 overrated players in FIFA 15

FIFA 15 rating: 86

Ok, so the makers of the game have given him a downgrade from 87 to 86. But no, that is not enough despite the fact that he won the World Cup with Germany. He didn’t make a huge impact in the tournament, and we all know the fact that he didn’t quite live up to the expectations in his first season at Arsenal.

#5 Nemanja Vidic (Serbia)

Top 10 overrated players in FIFA 15

FIFA 15 rating: 83

The 33 year old veteran who is now playing for Inter Milan is rated on par with John Terry in FIFA 15 which is not justified considering the kind of season both players had for their respective clubs. Vidic also played just 34 matches for United across all competitions last term.

#4 Javi Martinez (Spain)

FIFA 15 rating: 85

Is Javi Martinez that good to be rated ahead of the likes of Giorgio Chiellini? It is definitely debatable, and he played just 34 games for Bayern and was part of the Spanish side that lost 2-0 to Chile in the World Cup. A rating of 82 or 83 would have been ideal for him.

#3 Xavi (Spain)

FIFA 15 rating: 86

Let’s be honest. We don’t really want to see Xavi on this list do we? But we got no choice. FIFA 15 has rated him at 86 which is absurd in my opinion. Even Barcelona fans will face the fact that the man has lost his touch a bit as the older he gets. The irony is Andrea Pirlo has been rated just 84 which makes Xavi’s rating look even more ridiculous.

#2 Robin Van Persie (Netherlands)

Top 10 overrated players in FIFA 15

FIFA 15 rating: 88

There is no doubt about the fact that he is one of the most lethal strikers in world football. But the man made just 20 league appearances last time around and was sidelined on many occasions. He clearly wasn’t at his best and doesn’t warrant a rating higher than that of Sergio Aguero (who is rated 87). 85 or 86 would have been ideal for RVP.

#1 Andres Iniesta (Spain)

Top 10 overrated players in FIFA 15

FIFA 15 rating: 89

In a list that has been dominated by Spanish players, its no coincidence that one of them is topping it. Andres Iniesta rated 89 in FIFA 14 was understandable. But the guy getting the same rating in FIFA 15 doesn’t make sense. He is still a very good player, but EA made it clear to us that the ratings are calculated purely on the performances over the last 12 months which surely makes him overrated in the game.
