#10 Dale Steyn

Speed: 155.7 kmph

The No.1 Test bowler from South Africa is at No.10 on the list of fastest balls bowled. He bowled his quickest delivery against New Zealand in a bilateral series.

#9 Shane Bond

Speed: 156.4 kmph

New Zealand’s fastest bowler missed more games than he played due to his career being filled with injuries. He achieved this feat during 2003 ICC World Cup.

#8 Mohammed Sami

Speed: 156.4 kmph

Coming from a country which is packed with fast bowlers, Mohammed Sami is 7th on our list of fastest bowlers. His fastest delivery was against Zimbabwe in Sharjah in the year 2003. He started his career with full of promise, but since the exit of Waqar and Wasim it has been a disappointing one.

Mitchell Johnson, the Australian pace bowler, who can also be handy with the bat bowled his fastest ball during the recently concluded Ashes Series in 2013. He is very lethal with his fast paced bouncers.

Fidel Edwards, spotted by Brian Lara in the nets, was excellent for the West Indies during his initial years. His fastest delivery came against South Africa in 2003.

Andy Roberts was one of the quartet of West Indian fast bowlers (Michael Holding, Joel Garner and Colin Croft are the others) from the mid-1970s. His bouncers were considered as the toughest balls to play. He varied his speed often and thereby setting up the batsmen. His fastest delivery was against Australia in a Test match in Perth 1975.

Jeffrey Thomson – the first bowler to kiss the magic figure of 160 kmph – was considered as one of the fastest bowlers to have played Test cricket. His fastest delivery was marked in the same test match in which Andy Roberts bowled his fastest delivery.

Speed: 161.1 kmph

Shaun Tait – the bowler who stayed away from Test cricket - remained very brutal in the shorter formats. His fastest ball was against England in an ODI match at Lord’s in 2010. He ended his Test and ODI career after getting smacked around the park against India in the 2011 World Cup.
