FIFA 15: Top 20 Players in the Bundesliga

FIFA 15 is almost out, and we can’t be more excited. EA sports have put out a list of 20 highest rated players in major leagues around the world. We already have lists for the English and Spanish leagues and also a list of 50 highest rated players in FIFA 15. Now another league, that users will want to dive into is the Bundesliga with its vast array of talent.We have made a list of 20 of the top rated players in the Bundesliga.

#20 David Alaba

The attack-minded left back, David Alaba is the 20th player on the list and it goes to show how good he is. His marauding runs down the flank and deadly crosses into the box have resulted in some spectacular goals. A tireless player, he puts in just as much effort offensively,as he falls back to mark players.

#19 Sokratis Papastathopoulos

Up next, in the 19th spot, we have centreback Sokratis. An intelligent defender, he combines well with Hummels to diffuse any threat on goal. Tall and strong, he repels attacks with ease and takes down attackers with timely tackles and interceptions.

#18 Ilkay Gundogan

Although he did not play much for his country due to him being injured for quite some time prior to the World Cup, Ilkay Gundogan is still regarded as one of the best mid-fielders in the Bundesliga. His passing and dribbling skills are magnificent, and for a center midield, he’s got decent pace.

#17 Roman Weidenfeller

Weidenfeller is a top goalkeeper and protects his goal well. His diving saves and style of play are traditional, and his reflexes and ball handling are top notch, making him one of the best goal keepers in the league.

#16 Jefferson Farfan

Schalke’s winger, Farfan takes the 16th spot on the list. A speedy winger, he runs up and down the flank and either cuts in to take shots at goal or runs further to put in inviting crosses into the box.

#15 Klaas Jan-Huntelaar

Finally a player on this list that is not from either Bayern or Dortmund. Klaas-Jan Hunterlaar is a top striker in the Bundesliga and has a real thirst for goals. Good with both feet, he easily unleashes powerful shots at goal, which leave opposing defenders and keepers scrambling to save them, a lot of times unsuccessfully.

#14 Mehdi Benatia

Having just joined the Bundesliga, it’ll be exciting to play FIFA 15 with Benatia in a new set up. Currently regarded as one of the best defenders in the world, his strength and defensive mind-set keep him a cut above others

#13 Xabi Alonso

Another player who’s recently joined the Bundesliga, Xabi Alonso looks ready to set the league on fire with Bayern Munich. Playing right in front of the backline, he moves the ball around well and his range of passing is exquisite. He is also defensively sound and breaks down opposing attacks.

#12 Javi Martinez

Capable of playing both at Centre back and in centre midfield, Javi Martinez is a key player for his club and is responsible for breaking down counter attacks, which he does very efficiently. Physically strong, he takes hold of the back line and controls it, maintains the balance and helps control possession with his passing range.

#11 Jerome Boateng

Forming the solid wall for Bayern and taking the 11th spot is Jerome Boateng. Powerful and dedicated, he works hard to stop attacks from opponents using his tackles and his ability to man mark and intercept passes. He also moves up for headers during corners and has converted quite a lot of them.

#10 Mario Gotze

Gotze scored the tournament deciding goal in the final of the 2014 World Cup and gave his country a much deserved victory. Earlier, he had been setting up goals for Bayern Munich throughout the season. An intelligent center attacking midfield player, his passing and dribbling skills create many chances at goal, some of which, he converts himself.

#9 Mats Hummels

The Dortmund defender is one of the most wanted players in the world and that just goes to show his quality. A solid rock at the heart of Dortmund’s defense, Hummels dictates his backline and is quick to sort out any attack by the opposition. His marking and tough tackles make him the biggest obstacle that attackers have to face for a goal.

#8 Thomas Muller

Germany’s Golden Boy takes the 8th spot on the list and rightly deserves to. His knack of always being at the right place at the right time makes him the biggest threat in his team. His timely runs into the box and immaculate finishing have resulted in a lot of goals, some of them at the most crucial of times

#7 Marco Reus

Germany has a plethora of talent and shining amongst them is Marco Reus. His dribbling and link-up play is exceptional and so are his powerful shots. Put all that together with speed and intelligence, then you have a player who gives nightmares to any defense.

#6 Robert Lewandowski

Mercurial Lewandowski is the top striker in the Bundesliga. Quick, tall and strong, this player has a real eye for goals and is clinical when presented with opportunities. He breaks through defenses with his dribbling and his pace and at the same time is quite adept in taking shots from a distance.

#5 Philipp Lahm

The magic dwarf, captained his team to World Cup glory and stands fifth on the list. A versatile player, even so late in his career Lahm changed his position and playing style from left back to defensive midfield to suit his team, and still manages to perform just as well. Plus, for a defender, he is very skillful and a good dribbler.

#4 Franck Ribery

Frenchman Franck Ribery takes 4th spot on the list. He marauds down the wing, leaving defenders gasping for breath behind him and whips in lethal crosses into the opponents’ box. Working tirelessly, he harasses defense lines with neat passing, pace and his ability to cut in.

#3 Bastian Schweinsteiger

Bastian Schweinsteiger is hailed as one of the best midfielders in the industry. Calm and precise, he controls the mid-field with absolute authority, ripping defenses open with his passes and through balls, and nipping attacks before they even threaten his goal. He was one of the key players in Germany’s triumph at the 2014 World Cup.

#2 Manuel Neuer

The second highest rated player in the Bundesliga is sweeper keeper extraordinaire, Manuel Neuer. The Bayern custodian had a stellar last season, followed by even better performances at the 2014 Brazil World Cup. He has evolved the role of a goal-keeper and is capable of doing so much more than most other players who put on the goalkeeper’s gloves.

Sitting on the top of his league is the Dutch speed demon, Arjen Robben. His pace and athleticism make him the perfect counter attacking missile. He leaves defenders in his dust when he gets a break through the defense line and if not that, he goes through them with mazy dribbles, to unleash a powerful shot on goal.
