#1 Manchester City

Manchester City revealed their much anticipated home kit this week, and the changes have been kept to a minimum with only the collar altered into a v-neck, black in colour instead of last season’s light-blue in the new home kit. Interestingly, ‘We are Cityzens’ is inscribed into the collar’s interior this time.

The kits have been manufactured with laser-cut ventilation holes and mesh panels in several areas of the shirt, allowing the players to receive improved air circulation on the pitch. According to the club’s official website, each of these kits have been manufactured using 18 recycled plastic bottles by Nike.

Italian club FC Internazionale Milan have just revealed their home kit, manufactured by Nike for the 2014/15 season. The major change in the new kit is clearly its new pinstripe design, much different from their traditional black and blue stripes. The old, round collar has been swapped with a classic blue polo collar.

“Inspired by the elegant fashion houses of Milan, and the youthful style of the city, Inter are proud to be individual, and now have a unique kit for a unique club,” wrote Nike on their official website.

#3 Liverpool FC

Liverpool have unveiled all three of their kits including the goalkeeper ones with Warriors as their manufacturer.

The use of Wart-Tech, Warrior's signature apparel technology system is the biggest improvement for the home kit with benefits of the fabric including a highly breathable shirt as well as moisture-wicking to keep players dry.

The home jersey features the traditional red lines along the white stripes on the sleeves, resembling the one donned during the 1960s. A 96 logo is inscribed on the back of the shirt as a tribute to the Hillsborough victims. On the other hand, the away kit brings back yellow into the colour, the one used during the 1980s, with red trims instead of the white ones used in the home kit.

#4 Manchester United

The new Manchester United home kit for the 2014-15 season proudly embodies the club’s purest and most authentic identity – the red, white and black colors instantly recognized and revered around the world. This kit features a red shirt, white collar and cuffs with a red-and-black trim. The kit is completed by white shorts and black socks with a red band.

The shirt welcomes the return of the white collar, which for the first time is a ribbed crew-neck design. The bottom of the collar has a subtle chevron finish to replicate the pattern used on the chest of United shirts as far back as the early 20th century, and again in recent times.

The button hidden in the collar is unique to the shirt — red with a black trim and engraved with the club name. Inside the back of the neck is a small label with the message: "Youth, Courage, Greatness" to represent the club’s values. On the back of the shirt below the neck is a black devil from the club crest, and across the back is a series of chevrons in engineered mesh to emphasize the importance of the shape to United.

While this new kit features Nike’s signature design details, it also offers players the very latest in performance innovation, kit technology and environmental sustainability.

#5 Real Madrid

UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid unveiled their new kits for the upcoming 2014/15 season at the Santiago Bernabeu, with their second strip being pink this time instead of orange like last season.

Real Madrid had earlier released a teaser video starring Gareth Bale and Marcelo indicating that the Los Blancos could be wearing pink for a change this season. Surpirisngly, even their home kit features a pink trim on the shorts and socks.

To honor the club’s sporting achievements, the first jersey has a star on the chest that shines like a light. You can also spot the lines of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium along with it.

Talking about the pink kit, the club’s official website stated, “The second kit is even more of a break from tradition. The main colour is fuchsia, a concept never seen before in the club's 112-year history. The crest will create a unique and impressive visual impact as it is made entirely in pink and white.”

“As is usually the case with Adidas garments, the jersey incorporates Climacool technology, which helps regulate body temperature during play.”

The Catalan giants have unveiled their home kit for the upcoming season with not much difference from the older one. The new kit will feature the traditional red and blue stripes, and comes with a much enlarged crest. Among the major changes, the Catalan or Senyera flag has been inscribed underneath the collar, and alongside the three kit sponsors in Nike, Qatar Airways and UNICEF, the new kit will see the presence of a Beko’s logo on the team jersey, becoming the first brand whose logo will be featured on the team jersey’s sleeve.

Like most of the other kits manufactured by Nike, the Dri-Fit Technolgy was used while designing the kit, which helps in draining sweat away from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts where it quickly evaporates during matches. The shirts also feature laser-cut ventilation holes to promote localized cooling, to help regulate player temperatures during a match. Environmental Sustainability is at the forefront of Nike’s designs these days and this kit is no exception as these were manufactured with recycled plastic bottles as well.
