UEFA Champions League Quarter Finalists and their statistics

Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund booked their place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals last night, and for the first time in the tournament's history, all eight group winners have made it into the quarter-finals. From Spain, three teams are into the last eight in the form of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, while Germany and England are supplying two quarter-finalists each as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Manchester United progressed through. Paris Saint-Germain is the only team representing France. The draw took place this Friday at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. In this slideshow, we present you the minimal statistics of each of the quater-finalists. The graphics are a property of reddit user schulzmeister who did an impeccable work compiling the graphics. #1 Goals scored

In terms of goal scoring, Real Madrid lead the charts with the highest number of goals. And, most of the goals have come from their trio - BBC which includes Cristiano Ronaldo (13 goals), Gareth Bale (4 goals) and Karim Benzema (4 goals). They are followed by Ligue 1's Paris Saint-Germain and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is leading their team's goal scoring sheet with 10 goals. For a more detailed overview on the top-scorer, you can check the goal scoring table here.

#2 Goals conceded

Borussia Dortmund have conceded the highest amount of goals this season, and quite frankly, you can't blame them. Their season has been injury plagued, and they narrowly escaped elimination from the hands of Zenit. Their goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller is clearly not having the best of his season, not just in the Champions League, but the domestic league as well.

The least number of goals conceded are by Chelsea and Atletico Madrid. Considering both the goal scored and conceded, Atletico Madrid are the most efficent side, and most of the credit goes to their manager, Diego Simeone.

#3 Passes completed

When it comes to pass-complettion, you would always see one man beyond all the statistics or images - Pep Guardiola. Pep Guardiola's influence on both Bayern Munich and Barcelona is quite evident as they top the charts with the highest number of passes. They are closely followed by Laurent Blanc's Paris Saint-Germain who have made a quite a name for themselves this season.

#4 Ball Possession

Just like the passes, ball possession don't win teams matches, but however, they give us an overview of how the team has been trying to win matches. Bayern Munich and Barcelona lead the possession stats with both having an average of 65-62% of the ball possession. They are followed by Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid who inspite of having a much lesser amount of ball possession and pass completition success rate, have scored more goals than any team.

#5 Attempts on Target/Attempts off Target

With 105 shots on target and just 20 goals to their tally, Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola should be worried about their squad's finishing capability. They are followed by Real Madrid whose shot completion percentage is a lot better in comparison to Bayern's. This is the part where I feel no one is reading this, and I am just talking to myself.
