Ten best goals from pre-season friendlies

After a long, gruesome month of football in Brazil, players have returned to their respective clubs for preparation for their upcoming new season. Many of the teams play in pre-season friendlies with some of the major teams even taking part in competitions such as theInternational Champions Cup.Here are ten of the best goals frompre-season friendlies:

#10 Suso - Liverpool vs AC Milan

After Joe Allen had opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 17th minute of the game, it was Suso who sealed their win over AC Milan as he scored from a curling finish in the 90th minute from 20 yards out.

The goal came after Philippe Coutinho found space down the left, slipping in a pass to Suso who made sure that the chance counted.

#9 Wayne Rooney - Manchester United vs AS Roma

Manchester United beat AS Roma 3-2 in the International Champions Cup in Denver – a pre-season tournament. Wayne Rooney scored twice and also assisted Juan Mata for the third goal. This stunner from Rooney came in the 35th minute of the match as he rounds an effort from a long-range shot.

#8 Sergi Darder - Malaga vs Newcastle

Following a thunderous goal from Malaga’s Sergi Darder in the 25th minute with a long-range strike, Newcastle succumbed to a 3-1 defeat by the hands of the Spanish club.

Darder was successful in finding the net after a string of passes, eventually leading into a goal from 25 yards out.

#7 Cesc Fbregas Chelsea vs Vitesse

#6 Ashley Young Manchester United vs Real Madrid

Ashley Young scored a brace and super-sub Javier Hernandez added a third to make sure Manchester United emerged victorious against Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup to set the final of the tournament an all-English affair. United will face fierce rivals Liverpool in Miami, who made it to the final after Manchester City lost 5-4 on penalties to Olympiakos after a 2-2 draw in Minneapolis.

In a move that was in stark contrast to the one-dimensional football Manchester United played last season under David Moyes, Young opened the scoring in the 21st minute. The move included 20 passes.

#5 Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Paris Saint-Germain vs Guingamp

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a brace to lead Paris Saint-Germain to a French Super Cup win over Guingamp at the Workers Stadium in Beijing, China.

He gave the French Ligue 1 champions the lead in the ninth minute with a superb curling effort from outside the box which beat the goalkeeper diving to his right.

Ibrahimovic doubled the lead 10 minutes later after Jean-Christophe Bahebeck was fouled in the box. The goalkeeper guessed right and dived to save the spot kick but Ibra’s shot was precise and accurate, nestling into the bottom corner.

#4 Osvaldo Alonso - Seattle Sounder vs Tottenham

Osvaldo Alonso’s 35-yard-strike was named SportsCenter's Top Play of the Week, and why wouldn’t it be? I mean, look at it!

While the game was tied at 1-1, the Seattle Sounders player unleased a thunder striker from 35 yards out which struck the bottom of the crossbar, getting into the back of the net to give Seattle a 2-1 lead against Tottenham.

#3 Andreas Bouchalakis Olympiakos\' vs AC Milan

Speaking of incredible swerve, this goal from Andreas Bouchalakis just wins it for me.

Another stunner from the International Champions Cup, Olympiakios’ Bouchalakis’ goal was one of the three that the Greek side were successful in coming up with apart from securing a clean sheet.

#2 Gareth Bale Real Madrid vs Inter Milan

Although Gareth Bale scored a sensational goal, it wasn’t enough for Real Madrid to beat Inter Milan in the International Champions Cup. The Spanish side took the lead when the Welshman scored a thunderbolt of a goal from outside the box 10 minutes into the game.

But Inter Milan equalized in the second half after Mauro Icardi converted a penalty. The match ended 1-1 and the Italian side won 3-2 on penalties with Icardi stepping up again to score from the decisive spot kick.

#1 Miralem Pjanic - Roma vs Manchester United

AS Roma’s Miralem Pjanic score a stunning goal from inside his own half against Manchester United in a friendly encounter in the International Champions Cup.

Interestingly, Pjanic had been practicing this very shot a day before the game; albeit with a different ball while he was at NFL team Denver Broncos’ training facilities.
