Transfer rumours of the day: 30th January 2015

With only four days left for the transfer window to shut down, we take a look at the transfer stories doing the rounds today. Today’s transfer rumours include Liverpool making a bid for Danny Ings, Anderson finally leaving Manchester United, Arsenal’s interest in Mario Mandzukic, Chelsea plotting a move for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi and Inter looking to sign Manchester City star Yaya Toure.The January transfer window generally sees a lot of last minute activity, and with many of the big clubs stepping in now, it looks like the end of this transfer window will be quite exciting. Here are the top transfer rumours of the day:

#1 Liverpool

According to the Guardian, Liverpool are interested in signing Burney striker Danny Ings. The Merseyside outfit are hoping to complete the deal before the Monday deadline and loan him back to Burnley. The 22-year-old’s contract at Turf Moor expires in the summer.

Italy’s transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has said that Liverpool target, goalkeeper Norberto Murara Neto has agreed to join Juventus once his contract expires in the summer. The Fiorentina goalkeeper was a long-term target for Liverpool, but it now appears he’ll stay in Italy.

According to Daily Star, Atletico Madrid have joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain. Reports also suggest the Argentine international has a 30 million release clause in his contract.

Daily Mail reports Liverpool teenager Sheyi Ojo is set to join Championship side Wigan on loan till the end of the season. Liverpool U-21 manager Michael Beale confirmed there are a number of clubs interested in taking him on loan.

#2 Manchester United

According to Daily Star, Manchester United are set to complete a double deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Mat Hummels and Atheltic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte. Earlier, Spanish journalist Guillem Balague confirmed Laporte’s desire to join Manchester United.

Daily Mail reports Manchester United are ready to offer an 18-month contract to Salford City trialist Sadik El Fitouri. The 20-year-old right impressed Manchester United staff during a game between U21s and first-team fringe players.

According to HLN journalist Michael Vergauwen, Manchester United reserve team right-back Marnick Vermijl is set to sign a long-term deal with Belgian side Lokeren. The 23-year-old spent the 2013/14 season on loan at Dutch side NEC in the Eredivisie.

Spanish newspaper Diario AS have suggested that Manchester United have reserved €150m for signing Real Madrid star Gareth Bale. Reports also suggest Real Madrid have no intention of selling him and he’ll turn down any offers from Manchester United.

According to the Times, Internacional have offered Anderson a four-year deal, after agreeing a £2.6 million fee with Manchester United.

#3 Arsenal

According to Metro, Arsenal will make a £15 million bid to sign Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin at the end of the season. Arsenal tried to sign the Southampton star last summer and will make one final effort this summer.

Reports suggest Arsenal and other top Premier League clubs are interested in signing Manchester City defender Ashinme Kigbu. His father Vincent Kigbu confirmed Arsenal’s interest in the 15-year-old.

Arsenal duo Mikel Arteta and Joel Campbell have signed new contracts at the club. Campbell signed a new contract before leaving for loan to Villarreal.

The Express have said that Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in signing Atletico Madrid's Mario Mandzukic. Reports also suggest Atletico Madrid are willing to offload the 28-year-old striker, after the return of Fernando Torres to Vicente Calderon.

#4 Chelsea

According to the Times suggests Chelsea have agreed the sale of André Schürrle to Wolfsburg. The reported fee is £23 million and Wolfsburg will fund part of the deal by selling Ivica Olic to Hamburg.

According to the very reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea are interested in signing Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi in the summer. Inter Milan are already to replace the Argentine striker with Marseille’s Gignac.

The London Evening Standard say that Jose Mourinho is interested in signing Real Madrid star Raphael Varane in the summer. Varane is not getting enough playing time at Santiago Bernabéu and is being used as a backup option.

#5 European round-up (all other clubs)

According to the Times:

Aston Villa are set to sign Manchester City’s Scott Sinclair on loan with the option of a permanent £3 million deal in the summer while Swansea City are in talks to sign Southampton midfielder Jack Cork. The 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer, but Ronald Koeman wants the midfielder to stay.

Sevilla are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Étienne Capoue while Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo, who was on loan at Inter Milan, is set to sign for Juventus on a temporary basis.

According to the Daily Star, Roberto Mancini is lining up a summer move for Manchester City star Yaya Toure. The 31-year-old is also a transfer target for the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris-Saint Germain.
