10 best Nintendo Wii U games

The 1980’s was a pretty important era for technology. Sony changed the way we listened to music with the introduction of the Walkman, Martin Cooper invented the cell phone, Microsoft Windows made its way into our homes, DNA fingerprinting was made possible, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak revolutionized the PC with the Apple II as well as the Macintosh, but the biggest, by far the biggest, invention was that of the Nintendo Entertainment System(NES) in 1983 which brought an end to the video game crisis and went on to become the best selling gaming console of all time. The Japanese company has achieved a lot since then with brilliant product after brilliant product, with the Nintendo Wii U being the latest. I’m sure each and every one of us have owned a Nintendo product in some point in our childhood and with that in mind let’s take a look at some of the best games released for the Wii U.

#10 Rayman Legends

Another Ubisoft masterpiece has got to be Rayman Legends. This brilliant sequel to Rayman Origins has all the elements of a great game including amazing levels with fresh challenges, fantastic graphics and visuals, memorable enemy bosses along with the quirky characters of the first game. The multiplayer mode is also equally compelling and allows upto five players to face off against each other. Id suggest adding a copy to your game shelf at the earliest.

#9 Need For Speed Most Wanted U

NFS: Most Wanted is one of the most loved games in the Need For Speed franchise so its no surprise to see it included on the list of best Wii U games. The latest edition of NFS:MW has been released on all the major platforms but its safe to say the Wii U version is the best of the lot. Things that make this already brilliant game more awesome on the Wii U are its stunning, realistic graphics, thrilling gameplay as well as virtually unlimited free roaming capabilities. All in all, NFS:MW will always be a gamers favourite and a must have for every Wii U owner.

#8 Lego Marvel Superheroes

What I love Lego Marvel Superheroes is its success with regard to combining two very important elements of our childhood, Lego along with Marvel Comics, into one fantastic game. Lego:MSs plot follows are favourite masked dudes as reunite on the behest of Nick Fury to save the world from Loki and his minions of doom. Some of the games many awesome elements are its amazing graphics, brilliant action sequences, bonus mission and of course New York City recreated in Lego. If I were you I would hot foot it to the nearest game store and by myself a copy as soon as possible.

#7 Child Of Light

Ubisoft has produced another gem in the form of Child Of Light. Although this awesome game has been released on every major console possible, the Wii U version still packs quite a mighty punch. This amazing action adventure cum role playing game follows the journey of Aurora and her trusted companion Igniculus the Firefly who aids her on her quest to find her father the Duke. Child Of Lights stunning visuals combined with its superb action sequences make it a worthy game to consider owning.

#6 Shovel Knight

This amazing action adventure games certainly brings back a lot of fond memories due to its resemblance to classic Nintendo Entertainment System games which all used 8-bit graphics. In Shovel Knight, which is proof that 8-bit games can still be as awesome as they were 30-years-ago, you play a Knight who, as the games name suggests, wields a shovel, which aids him in his mighty quest of freeing his beloved land from the clutches of the evil Enchantress. The games brilliant storyline along with its memorable characters make it a must have for all Wii U owners.

#5 Mario Kart 8

A recent survey showed that almost half of the Wii U owners possessed a copy of Mario Kart 8 which is no surprise as its easily one of the best games for the console. Mario Kart 8 follows the traditional gameplay of all its prequels, which is basically racing on Go Karts and running your opponents race while at it, with the exception of a few awesome features like anti gravity racing, boomerang flowers, a super horn and a piranha plant all of which can be used to give you the edge on the track. Not to forget Mario Kart TV which allows you to record your races and upload the best ones on YouTube. Mario Kart 8 also boasts of some awesome downloadable content like Link from the Legend Of Zelda and a variety of Mercedes themed vehicles. So whats your reason for not owning it?

#4 Super Smash Bros

Looking for a Wii U game that promises to get you as well as your buddies hooked? Then Super Smash Bros is the game youre looking for as its unquestionably one of the best Wii U multiplayer games on the market. As we know Super Mario Bros is one of the best game franchises around and what makes Super Smash Bros awesome is its beat em up, boxing ring gameplay which allows you and your buddies to battler as your favourite Mario characters, with the added bonus of Pokemons Pikachu, down to the last man standing. So whats stopping you from owning this fab game and watching time fly?

#3 The Legend Of Zelda:The Wind Walker HD

Link and his gang are back and with them they bring a whole new world of awesomeness in tow. Everything is better in High Definition and the Wind Walker is no different, with all the adventures, fight sequences and puzzles beautifully recreated in HD. Along with all these upgrades comes the Swift Sale feature which allows your boat to move at a faster pace than previous versions. So what are you waiting for? Start your quest for glory as soon as possible.

#2 Bayonetta 2

If you thought Nintendo couldnt produce any other astounding action game besides the Super Mario series then think again because Bayonetta 2 is as excellent as they come. Bayonetta, everybodys favourite witch since Sabrina and Hermione, is back at her zappiest best and is better than ever. The sequel features a range of new abilities and skills and promises hours upon hours of compelling gameplay. A must have, according to me.

#1 Super Mario 3D World

It would be a crime to have any other game occupy the top spot on this list. The Super Mario franchise is one of the most popular game series ever produced and is credited with putting Nintendo on the map and making them what they are today. Lets face it we still cant get enough of two little guys saving the world and collecting coins, eliminating enemies and shooting fire balls while theyre at it. Super Mario 3D World allows you to do all of that, the only difference being the upgraded graphics to match with our times. So if you dont own this gem already I suggest you correct that as soon as possible.
