Hell in a Cell then and now - A look at 5 superstars

The Celtic Warrior

Hell in a Cell – As destructive as it getsOne year is a long period, isn't it? Especially when you are a WWE fan, you notice that things are never the same after such a long gap.The rankings of the superstars on the roster, the story-lines they were a part of, championships that they win/lose and much more changes as time passes. As part of this slideshow, let us have a look at 5 superstars and where they stand on the roster today and what has changed from 'Hell in a Cell' then to 'Hell in a Cell' now!

#5 Sheamus

The Celtic Warrior

Sheamus was the US Champion back then and he took on The Miz at the PPV.

Sheamus successfully defended the title and enjoyed a decent reign as a baby face. Today, he is not just the 'Money in the Bank' winner but is one the greatest heels in the company at the moment. As was the case with Sheamus always, he still loves to fight and maybe he could just be your future WWE Champion.

As of now, he is still unbooked for the PPV but he has some unfinished business with a few guys on the roster. We’ll have to wait and watch as to how things turn out for the 'Celtic Warrior'.

#4 Seth Rollins

The Architect

Last year at 'Hell in a Cell', Rollins took on Dean Ambrose and he was Mr. Money in the Bank then.

2015 proved to be his year, as is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion now and that too for a substantially long period. Half the job was done when he won the briefcase last year and he finished the job at WrestleMania 31. He faced many opponents over the last year or so including Cena, Sting, Lesnar, Orton and Reigns. It had been a while since Rollins won the title and this year proved great for the 'Architect'.

#3 John Cena

The Champ is here

'The face that runs the place' competed against Randy Orton inside 'Hell in a Cell' last year around.

Even though it might have been the trillionth time they faced each other, the match caught the eye of the WWE universe as it was to decide the #1 Contender for Brock's WWE Championship. Cena emerged with his hand raised, but couldn't win the title. Come 2015 and 'The Champ was here'! This time around he is the US Champion.

He has been providing chances to many talented young guys in the name of 'US title Open Challenge'. Cena was always great to watch on screen and it doesn't matter which edition of the 'Hell in a Cell' it is, Cena always has something interesting to expose to the WWE universe.

#2 Brock Lesnar

The Beast Incarnate

Everyone remembers the match between Brock Lesnar and John Cena at SummerSlam 2014. Lesnar conquered John Cena and became the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Last year, 'Hell in a Cell' did not have a match for the World title. Lesnar was so dominating or you could say dormant, that he didn't defend the title for 3 consecutive PPVs and HIAC was one of them. Fast forward one year later and Lesnar is on the hunt for Undertaker and looks to settle the scores with the ‘Phenom’. The stage is all set for an epic finish to the Lesnar and Undertaker saga at Hell In a Cell.

#1 Kane

The Demon

You talk about change, transformation, but there is also something called a revolution.

This is something that aptly suits Kane. From being a stale 'Director of Operations', Kane has risen to the so-called 'Devil's favourite Demon'. The mask is back, the anger is back, the attire is back and finally the fire is back.

Kane will face Seth for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship inside 'Hell in a Cell'. All I’ve got to say is that Kane touched the alpha and gamma of his career in just a year, as he was too boring back then but now, he has got something interesting to showcase.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
