Predicting 10 possible Wrestlemania 31 bouts following WWE Fastlane

With the inaugural WWE Fastlane event, numerous feuds have been set in motion for the biggest show of the year, Wrestlemania 31.Romans Reigns V Brock Lesnar for the WWE championship and Triple H v Sting have both been officially confirmed at Fastlane while many others have been heavily hinted at. Some matches are much less likely than others while some seem basically a certainty.Let’s take a look now at 10 potential bouts that could occur at the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania 31:

#11 Ultimate Warrior Battle Royal

It remains to be seen whether the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal will become an annual spectacle or not but it is a high possibility.

To switch things up a bit, WWE could instead dedicate this match to a different (more recent) legend who has passed on, The Ultimate Warrior.

A multi-man battle royal will allow more superstars to get on the card, but with plenty of singles matches with potential, this bout may also not happen.

If it does though, someone like Sandow deserves a major push.

Predicted winner: Sandow

#10 The Miz v Damien Sandow

Tension has been building for months between these two and now hopefully they will be given a place on the Wrestlemania card where they can truly have a chance shine (especially Damien).

Sandow has become hugely popular with his stunt double gimmick and WWE need to capitalize on his momentum by giving him a major moment.

Whether there will be room for this match on the mania card remains to be seen, but I’m sure most believe it definitely should happen, including me.

Predicted winner: Sandow wins

#9 Cesaro & Kidd v The Usos v The Ascension v New Day

Tyson Kidd and Cesaro have been excelling as a tag team and captured a well-deserved tag team title victory at Fastlane against The Usos.

They could defend against the Usos in a standard match but a multi-team tag match (similar to last year) may be more interesting and will allow more stars to be in the spotlight.

Unfortunately for these amazing tag teams, due to what looks to become a stacked mania card, this bout will probably get relegated to the pre-show again. The upside is that means they will be given plenty of time to impress

Predicted winner: The Brass Ring Club retain

#8 Nikki Bella v Paige v Naomi v Natalya v AJ Lee

Nikki still holds the title and will quite likely defend it at mania in a multi-diva match up. Paige seems certain to still be involved, while someone like Naomi also deserves a spot at Wrestlemania 31.

AJ Lee has been out since Survivor Series and a return in time for Wrestlemania would smart considering she is one of the most popular stars on the entire roster.

Naomi possesses that talent but has yet to hold the divas championship. Hopefully Wrestlemania 31 will be her time

Predicted winner: Naomi wins her first championship

#7 Goldust v Cody Rhodes

WWE decided to go with Stardust v Goldust at Fastlane but the feud appears to also be continuing. The element regarding Stardust rejecting his former self (Cody) is also very intriguing.

WWE could however turn Stardust back to Cody shortly to add another different depth to their Wrestlemania bout which would stand out from their Fastlane match.

The smart move would be to have the fresher younger talent, Cody go over. A stipulation regarding a Goldust retiring is also a possibility

Predicted winner: Cody retires his brother

#6 Bad News Barrett v Dean Ambrose v Sheamus (IC title match)

With Ambrose getting himself disqualified at Fastlane and actually stealing Barrett’s title, it seems a lock that a rematch will occur at Wrestlemania. But to make this bout much more interesting, WWE could make this a triple threat by adding a freshly returned (heel) Sheamus.

All three guys are solid workers and would produce a captivating, hard hitting battle.

The biggest star with the most potential, Dean Ambrose, definitely deserves the victory and a decent championship reign before moving back up into the main event scene.

Predicted Winner: Ambrose captures the gold

#5 Daniel Bryan v Dolph Ziggler

The epic encounter that I (and I’m sure many others) are hoping for, especially now Bryans main event opportunities are over.

Two of the best currently in the WWE today who both lost at Fastlane, were eliminated from the rumble unceremoniously, both guys who weren’t supposed to make it and who have everything to prove to WWE management (and also themselves). The two began teasing this match directly after the rumble on Twitter and apparently Bryan personally requested this match. One can only hope WWE doesn’t decide to do the hugely boring option of Sheamus v Bryan. I believe Ziggler would need the win more to gain some momentum.

Predicted winner: Ziggler defeats Bryan

#4 Rusev v John Cena (US title street fight)

As many expected, their match at Fastlane had a dodgy finish (Lana provided a distraction allowing Rusev to strike a low blow) and the feud appears certain to carry over onto the mania card. Cena and Rusev produced a fairly solid match up at Fastlane and given a better finish on a grander stage they are should to once again perform well.

Putting the US championship on Cena would do wonders for adding prestige to the title but should they really sacrifice Rusev’s epic streak to an already established star? Personally I am hoping WWE decide to put Rusev over cleanly further pushing him a top tier super heel. Although I hoped the exact same thing last year with Bray Wyatt’s match against Super Cena…

Having Rusev force Cena to tap could actually add some interesting character development to Cena and provide an intriguing struggle moving forward. Also a ‘No DQ’ stipulation would allow for a more chaotic brawl where weapons and dirty tactics are legal.

Predicted winner: The monster Rusev makes Cena tap

#3 Seth Rollins v Randy Orton

Another feud that has been rumoured for some time was all but confirmed at the Fastlane PPV. Orton has been out with a storyline injury (along with some real life niggling injuries) to film but has been ready to return for quite some time now.

Rollins took Orton out with a curb stomp on the announce table followed by a curb stomp to the steps which was preceded by long term tension and clearly pointed towards a match up whenever Orton finally returned.

Following Rollins (along with Kane & Big Shows) win at Fastlane, he curb stomped Ziggler and was attempting to curb stomp Ryback before Orton returned to make the save.

This match is now basically a certainty for Wrestlemania and the younger star once again should definitely go over.

Predicted winner: Rollins wins

#2 Undertaker v Bray Wyatt

Over the last few weeks, Wyatt has been spewing mysterious cryptic promos calling out an unnamed individual who most assumed was The Undertaker. However following the WWE Fastlane PPV, Wyatt has cleared up any doubts regarding who he was challenging and the match is now all but set in stone.

During the first ever Fastlane event, the familiar tune that has become synonymous with Taker played as druids came out carrying a casket. Excitement brewed around the arena, was Undertaker really here?

No, he wasn’t. The casket opened and an eerie Bray Wyatt sat up inside. Wyatt officially made a challenge to Undertaker for a match at Wrestlemania and it shouldn’t be long now before Taker responds.

Who would win this match though? Pushing the younger talent would be smart but this would harm his legacy to a certain extent, somewhat devalue Lesnar’s conquering of the streak and in turn devalue the one who beats the one.

I think Taker will win but I’d love to see Wyatt win and retire him. Therefore I’m going to go with the new face of fear.

Predicted winner: Wyatt wins and retires the Phenom
