India's possible squad for the World T20Last night, India created history by becoming the first team in 140 years to whitewash Australia in a series in Australia. Now, with this 3-0 win, India will go into the 2016 World T20 with a lot of confidence. India are already the red-hot favourites for the tournament that will take place in India.MS Dhoni, after last night’s victory, said that this will be the most likely Indian squad that will play in the World T20. With just over 40 days to go for the tournament, the ICC have set a deadline on February 8 for all the teams to announce their 15 member squads. February 8 is just a week away and let us take a look at the possible Indian squad for the World T20.

#1 Batsmen

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

As far as the batting department is concerned, everything is almost settled in the Indian team. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are in the form of their lives and they will be the first two names on the team sheet for the World T20.

Rohit is certain to open the innings, but his batting partner is not yet decided. Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane fighting for one spot and with the performances in the T20 series against Australia, Dhawan might just get the nod ahead of Ajinkya Rahane.

Virat Kohli will be the number 3 batsman and following him, India will have their T20 specialist Suresh Raina. With these names, it will be very difficult for some other batsman to get their eye in. Manish Pandey, who scored a 100 in Sydney will be the backup batsman in the squad.

Batsmen: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Manish Pandey

#2 All-Rounders

Yuvraj Singh

MS Dhoni likes to have as many all-rounders he can in T20Is and he would be glad to have Yuvraj Singh back in the set-up. In Indian conditions, Yuvraj can be considered as an all-rounder as he can capable of bowling 4 tight overs with the ball apart from his batting exploits.

Yuvraj Singh, the hero in India’s 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup has made a comeback to the national side after his dismal show in the 2014 World T20 finals and now, he will be raring to go and take India to glory for one last time.

Ravindra Jadeja, who has been in a fine form will be a certainty in the playing XI and pace bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya is also likely to make the cut.

All-Rounder: Yuvraj Singh, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja

#3 Wicket-keeper

The selectors won't be having any second thoughts in choosing MS Dhoni as the wicket-keeper. MS Dhoni, who captained India to victories in the 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions trophy, will be captaining the Indian team and will look to win his fourth ICC tournament as a captain.

The Indian selectors are not big fans of choosing a second wicket-keeper for ICC tournaments and with the tournament taking place at home, it will be easier for the replacement player to join the team in a short period of time.

Wicket-keeper: MS Dhoni

#4 Bowlers

Jasprit Bumrah has been doing well in the T20Is against Australia

As far as the bowling department is concerned, R Ashwin will be the first bowler who will get into the squad. Ashwin has a phenomenal record in Indian conditions and he will be lead the Indian pace attack in the World Cup. With the World T20 taking place in India, the selectors will be tempted to have three spinners in the squad and Harbhajan Singh is likely to occupy the third spinner’s slot.

As far as the pacers are concerned, it is certain that Jasprit Bumrah and Ashish Nehra will be certainties in the playing XI and the team management will be sweating on the fitness of Mohammad Shami. If Shami is fit, he will get into the squad and replace Nehra in the playing XI and if fails to recover in time, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be taking his spot in the fifteen.

Bowlers: R Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami/Bhuvneshwar Kumar
