The Finn might not be an expert when it comes to communication skills, but when it comes to racing only a few can match his brilliance. Kimi gave several breathtaking performances for McLaren, but it was with Ferrari that he finally clinched that elusive world title in 2007. Then after two underwhelming seasons, he announced a sabbatical from F1 during which he competed in varying fields of motorsport like World Rally Championship and NASCAR. It was in 2012 that he made a surprising and successful comeback with Lotus which laid rest to everyone’s doubts about him.Over the years there have been numerous marvelous drives from Kimi, here is an attempt to chose 5 greatest races from his 203 races long career in which he truly was class of the field.

#5 2009 Belgian Grand Prix

Ferrari could not produce a competitive car and struggled through the 2009 season. But it was at the Belgian Grand Prix that Kimi gave Ferrari their only win of the season.

In qualifying, Fisichella in the Force India got a shock pole position, while Kimi could only manage to qualify 6th. In the race, Kimi quickly made up ground as by the end of the first lap he was second behind Fisichella.

Then after a safety car period, Kimi closed in on Fisichella and quickly passed him to seal his 18th Grand Prix win.

#4 2005 Monaco Grand Prix

Kimis only win at the Monte Carlo Circuit is one of his finest. In qualifying, he edged Fernando Alonso to take his third consecutive pole of the season.

At the start,he was closely followed by Alonso. Later in the race, Kimis decision of not pitting while others did handed him a considerable advantage as he continued to extend his lead even on older tyres.

This was sufficient for the finn to go ahead of Alonso and win the Monaco Grand Prix!

#3 2006 Bahrain Grand Prix

After a competitive 2005 season, Kimis 2006 campaign got off to the worst possible start as he qualified at the back of the field due to his cars rear wishbone failure.

Then in the race, Kimi demonstrated a fabulous recovery drive and by the end of the race finished in third place, just half a second ahead of Jenson Button in fourth place.

#2 2013 Singapore Grand Prix

Since his comeback in 2012, Kimi has reestablished himself in the sport through several great performances and one such performancewas at this years Singapore Grand Prix.

Suffering from back pain, Kimi still qualified 13th on the grid, but in the race he consistently kept moving up the field, and finally finished third in what was a valiant effort even after undergoing such pain.

#1 2005 Japanese Grand Prix

Kimi, through his several standout performances with McLaren, surmounted a challenge for the title this year and the greatest of these performances was his stellar drive at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Under wet conditions, Kimi found himself 17th on the grid for the race. At the start, he struggled due to a mistake on the first lap, but slowly started gaining lost ground. As he gained places, he also overtook Schumacher and Alonso and was now behind the leading group of Fisichella, Button and Webber. After passing both Button and Webber, Kimi wasbehind the leader Fisichella.

Then on the penultimate lap, Kimi went round the outside of Fisichella and in a breathtaking maneuver, overtook him to clinch one of his greatest wins ever.
