#5 2008 Australian GP

Rosberg showed brilliance in the first race of the 2008 season where he went on to grab his first podium ever in the Formula 1 circuit, after starting seventh on the grid. He drove a gritty race, one which saw the likes of Jenson Button and Sebastian Vettel clash, forcing them to retire. Rosberg also finished ahead of Fernando Alonso. Through all the commotion, the German drove a perfect race with a sub-par car and showed the world that he could match his dad, if not go one step better.

#4 2014 Austrian GP

Rosberg was on top at the end of the practice sessions and went on to land pole position, starting nine places ahead of Hamilton, thereby giving him a good chnace to open up his lead in the Drivers’ Championship. Nico then went on to drive a solid race and finish first by a margin of 2 seconds, pulling seven points further clear of his teammate. The last few laps saw Hamilton put pressure on Rosberg, but the German dealt with it in a calm way, and ensured that he took the chequered flag.

#3 2013 Monaco GP

Rosberg responded to doubts over his status of being the primary driver at Mercedes with a thumping performance as he took pole at the Monaco Grand Prix with a stylish drive. He went on to win the race 30 years after his father had done the same. Rosberg retained the lead after a pit stop, and then the safety car was deployed for the first time in the 2013 season which helped Mercedes retain 4th place in the Constructors’ championship.

#2 2014 Australian GP

Nico Rosberg kick-started his 2014 campaign with a bang, winning the race in style and gaining a valuable 25-point lead over teammate Lewis Hamilton. After starting third, he finished a good 20 seconds ahead of Daniel Ricciardo, and asserted the Mercedes’ newfound superiority. It was his fourth race win, and he managed to do the family double – his father won this very race in Adelaide 29 years ago. It also ended Sebastian Vettel’s nine-race winning streak, which had been active since July 2013.

#1 2012 Shangai GP

The 2012 season started perfectly for the Mercedes team, as Rosberg started on pole and went on to clinch the race comfortably. This was his first win in 111 Grands Prix and probably his toughest one, as it came in a car that was widely considered to be mediocre. He finished a good 20 seconds ahead of Jenson Button in second; this was a race that Roseberg had no trouble winning. The victory propelled talks of him moving to a bigger team at the end of the season, but for the time bieng Roseberg said that he just wanted to win more races, and thanked the team for putting their confidence in him.
