Top 5 WWE rumors of the week & analysis : 22 February, 2015

We are just hours away from the Fast Lane pay-per-view and the rumor mills have been buzzing tirelessly about the WWE. As expected, Fast Lane did feature in some of the rumors of the week while others had their say about WrestleMania as well.A couple of possible returns also made it into the speculation list of the week. However, despite all these stories, the headline grabber of the weekend will be the clash between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan at Fast Lane. Before we suit up our seat belts and get ready for that clash at Fast Lane, here are the past week’s top rumors and their potential impact on the WWE landscape.

#5 Goldberg light years away from a WWE return

Goldberg’s name poked out of nowhere this week and for his loyal fans out there, it wasn’t a good news. From the looks of it, seeing Goldberg for one more match in the WWE is a very long shot.

He is unlikely to return to WWE for a plethora of reasons and the much rumored clash against Ryback will not be happening after all. Goldberg has been missing from WWE for almost a decade now and will be a big draw if he decides to drop by and wrestle one more match.

After the breaking out of this rumors, that possibility seems to have gone with the wind. With the age factor standing against him, if Goldberg ever wants to have a farewell match in WWE, he better decide it quick.

#4 Seth Rollins cashes in unsuccessfully

The money in the bank cashing in of Seth Rollins is one of the most anticipated moments of 2015. With the current push he is having, Rollins is expected to cash in successfully but that might not be the case.

Thanks to his nude leaks, Rollins maybe punished with unsuccessful Money in the Bank cash in. It makes sense considering he is yet to be punished about the same and since Triple H made some controversial comments about Chyna, it would only be fitting for WWE to clean their hands.

On the other hand, fans might accuse them for having double standards which during the WrestleMania period, will be some bad blood in the mainstream media.

#3 John Cena vs. Rusev to headline Fast Lane

Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan clash might be the most interesting outing at Fast Lane but WWE is apparently planning to let the Rusev vs. John Cena match headline the pay-per-view.

From one point of view, it would be a good thing to give the United States Championship a big time main event. But then again, the Reigns vs. Bryan feud have more heat than what Cena and Rusev has.

The fans wouldn’t be eager about sticking around for seeing Cena headline a pay-per-view once again. And as a worst case scenario, if Cena goes on to win the match against The Bulgarian Brute then the fans are sure to show their displeasure.

#2 Triple H high on Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe’s departure from TNA was one of the biggest headlines of professional wrestling business this week. Joe will have no trouble finding a job in the independent circuit but according to the rumors, he might be headed to the WWE.

Triple H looks high on signing Joe into NXT as it opens up a lot of possibilities. Joe will join the likes of Adrian Neville, Finn Balor, Hideo Itami, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens down in NXT ensuring some high quality matches.

Vince McMahon meanwhile is not interested in signing up Joe since he is nowhere near the WWE superstar prototype that Vince has in his mind. This could easily lead to an all-out war between Hunter and Vince and as far as the fans are concerned, they would die to see him in WWE.

#1 Undertaker to appear at Fast Lane

Bray Wyatt’s vignettes have been gathering pace recently and all that could lead to an angle at Fast Lane. Bray has been giving messages to a mysterious personality throughout the past few weeks and the big reveal might happen on Sunday.

Undertaker is the rumored target of Bray’s verbal assaults. Taker’s return has not been slated as far as things stand now but if the company wants a Bray vs. Undertaker clash at Mania, they should bring back Taker at the earliest.

The recent photos suggest that he is nowhere near fit to wrestle at the moment but since we are dealing with professional wrestling and Undertaker here, we never know what to expect.
