The 2014-2015 NBA season is just on its early stages but many players have already been locked in and hitting their strides. While household names like LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony has been performing Sub-par so far and the reigning MVP Kevin Durant is sidelined due to an injury, fresh names have been making loud noises this season. So these are the top five players that have made their names considered in the MVP talks in the early stages of the season.

#5 Chris Bosh, Miami Heat

Chris Bosh bringing back his Raptor form.

Current Stats: 24.2ppg 10.3rpg 2.7apg

The reigning Eastern Conference Player of the week has been carrying the Miami Heat together with Wade on their post-LeBron era. Entering this season, Bosh has relieved his Raptor form, with a little bit of extra a championship experience. Expect Bosh to assume role of being the first option offensively. As long as Bosh can sustain the way he playing right now, the Heat can grab a home-court advantage comes playoffs time.

#4 DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings

fresh from a gold medal trip, Cousins has been a man on a mission to start the season.

Current Stats: 24.2ppg 11.8rpg 1.5apg

What did Spain air do with this man?! Cousins has been a vital cog for team USA en route to a gold medal finish in the World Cup. Entering his fifth year in the league, he brings new culture to his game. Often being hot-headed that always caused him T’s (he actually leads the league on technical fouls for the last two seasons), he showed maturity and poise while he’s in the court. And as a result of that? The Kings are 5-1.

#3 Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors

Current Stats: 23.8ppg 2.6rpg 3.2apg

Rare to see a team that is first on offensive and defensive rating, and Klay Thompson has been a major factor for the Warriors to achieve such feat. He has been averaging 54% from the field with 50% beyond the arc and a staggering 92% clip from the free throw area. He already dropped his career high 41 points against the Lakers. He has also showing that he is not only a shooter, but a scorer. Thompson has been proving that he is worth every penny of that max extension.

#2 James Harden, Houston Rockets

James Harden has been shooting the threes well so far this season.

Current Stats: 25.4ppg 6.8rpg 7.1apg

The Rockets have acquired Dwight Howard last year to provide inside presence, but the catalyst for this team will be James Harden. The self-proclaimed Best player in the league right now, has been an all-around player at least on the offensive end. Harden has been criticized by his defense since he got to Houston, but has shown signs of improvement on the other side of the court. He has been providing MVP worthy numbers for this team and by this pace, he can also dethrone Carmelo Anthony as scoring champ. There will always be a reason to fear the beard.

#1 Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans

Anthony Davis soaring high for a dunk.

Current Stats: 24.4ppg 12.8rpg 1.8apg 4bpg

Though the Pelicans are starting the season slow with a 2-2 record, Davis has been a dominating force for New Orleans. Aside from his staggering stats to open the season, he is only 21 years of age. At this stage of his career, he is nowhere near his ceiling and he has all the time to achieve that and polish his game. He also bulked up some muscles from a very lanky frame. The pelicans will go as far as where Davis reaches.
