The transfer window of January has given us a few surprises. As old rumours are being silenced, new ones are emerging every day. Messi’s transfer hype to Chelsea was put to rest after he said that there were no intentions of him switching this season. Bony’s long rumored transfer was confirmed as he finished his paperwork with Manchester City.With two weeks remaining for the transfer window to close, more rumours are sprouting up and players, across the continent, are being linked with reputed outfits. Let’s take a look at the transfer rumours of the day associated with the top clubs of Europe.

#1 Manchester United

Will Bale make a switch to Old Trafford?

Manchester United forward Adnan Januzaj leave the club on a loan deal as the 19-year old has been struggling under Louis van Gaal. The young star has played only for 26 minutes, since November. As reports suggest, Van Gaal has indicated that Januzaj is not currently on his team plans, he thinks the Belgian is not suited for a wing back role.

The Red Devils are being linked with Real Madrid midfielder Gareth Bale. According to reports, United are willing to shell out £117 million for the player as Bale looks at his options to leave Madrid, due to criticism from fans. It has also been suggested that Real Madrid are ready to accept the offer.

Aymeric Laporte could possibly move to Manchester United as it has been reported that the Red Devils plan to release a bid of £25m for the player. Jack Wilson from Daily Star said, “Van Gaal see Laporte as a shrewd investment for the future.”

#2 Arsenal and Aston Villa

Hector Moreno, Mexican center back could be swooped by Arsenal to reinforce their defensive line. The 26-year old has been on the radar of Tottenham, Swansea, Everton and Hull recently. Arsene Wenger has reportedly been active in the transfer window, after Mathieu Debuchy suffered a dislocated shoulder.

Aston Villa will have to wait until next summer to sign Tom Cleverley on a permanent deal. Reports say that the player is currently exploring his options to sign with other clubs, when he becomes free agent. Everton tried to beat Villa to his signing last season from Manchester United. Paul Lambert, manager of Aston Villa has reportedly revealed his interent in making Cleverley permanent with a bid of £7.5 million.

#3 Liverpool and Real Madrid

Long time favorite of the Reds, Ezequiel Lavezzi

Brendan Rodgers, manager of Liverpool is a step closer to signing Ezequiel Lavezzi as the player’s current club are taking a dip into the transfer market to find a suitable replacement. Rodgers had lost the race in signing the forward to Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli in 2012. Now with PSG looking forward to off-load the Argentine International, Rodgers could land Lavezzi at Anfield for a bid of £8m.

Numerous Serie A club interested in Liverpool forward Fabio Borini, but the player’s agent suggests that he will not make a transfer move away from Anfield. The player was approached by Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers, but Borini turned them down as he has vowed to force himself into Brendan Rodgers’ plans.

Reports suggest that Real Madrid are planning to release a £78 million bid to beat Chelsea and Manchester United to the signing of Paul Pogba. The midfielder’s agent hinted that the star will not be staying in Italy for long.

#4 Chelsea and Southampton

Schweinsteiger on the radar of Chelsea and Manchester United

Chelsea and Manchested United have been put on red alert over Bastian Schweinsteiger. The midfielder will become a free agent in 2016 as he has not signed any extension contract with Bayern Munich. Reports suggest that Jose Mourinho and Louis Van Gaal could launch their bids soon to bag the player. Schweinsteiger said, ”I am in no hurry to renew. It's not something that bothers me because I have a year before it expires.” He added, "The important thing is that my physical problems and injuries are resolved. The rest will follow."

Southampton are planning to make a £15m move on Braga midfielder Rafa Silva in the January transfer window. According to The Mirror, Saints boss, Ronald Koeman suggested that the 21-year old could help them seal their place in Premier League’s top four.

Bony’s possible replacement Mario Gomez is too expensive for Swansea City

Samuel Eto’o is reportedly on the verge of leaving Everton as the striker was absent at the club’s defeat against West Ham. Eto’o has been the center of attention for two unanimous clubs even though the forward signed for Everton from Chelsea for two years.

Juventus willing to buy Tottenham’s midfielder Paulinho. The midfielder is also the target of AC Milan but as reports say, Milan can only afford to loan the player. Meanwhile, Manchester City turned down Juventus’ request to loan Stevan Jovetic.

Swansea City has been on a look out for Bony’s replacement and reports suggest Florentina offered their striker Mario Gomez but it seems that any deal is unlikely. The German International is reportedly chasing high wages, which is unaffordable for Swansea.
