Who will replace Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32?

In theory only

Will he walk down the ramp in his vintage jersey at WrestleMania 32?It’s hard to think about The Undertaker playing the role of heel in his hometown of Dallas at WrestleMania 32, but that is what Vince McMahon wants. And as we all know, what Vince wants, Vince gets.An even more shocking twist to this sudden decision by the Chairman of the Board is that the Phenom will be facing Shane McMahon with control of Monday Night Raw on the line. Can someone say mismatch and “no chance” that McMahon is standing across from ‘Taker when the two are supposed to get in the ring in a “Hell in a Cell” match on April 3?While we were all still griping about WWE Fastlane from the night before, Monday night certainly allowed us to forgive the company for a piss-poor performance of a pay-per-view with a gritty, over-the-top show that left us with our tongues hanging out for the first 23 minutes of the program. That’s how long the opening segment took, the one where Shane’s entrance left us all giddy like little school children. If there is indeed a power struggle between the McMahons, which is always best for business, then this type of hype and the weeks heading to WrestleMania should be must-see television. And in the grand scheme of things, this has put the match between Triple H and Roman Reigns for the WWE World Title on the backburner, with there being a thought by some that it might be the least anticipated match of the night.Does Shane McMahon get in the ring with Undertaker? I doubt it. I also don’t see the Dead Man lying down for McMahon. So there has to be a proxy for McMahon in this case. There are only three logical choices for this match. Here are the candidates.

#5 Kane

In theory only

While the match won’t be the hyped super show fans might want to see, this one has some merit to it.

What better way to beat Undertaker or attempt to wrestle control of the company away from Vinnie Mac than to have Kane face his brother in Dallas?

The final chapter of this saga must still be written. There is so much history between these two. Could it be a swan song for both wrestlers – the two most tenured performers in the company?

If Shane were to bring Kane out as his proxy and the Big Red Machine were to challenge his rival for the last time, in Hell in a Cell, it would certainly be worth the look. While it may not get the pop of other opponents, WWE would be doing the right thing to finally have closure with this angle.

#4 John Cena

Will John Cena defy the odds again?

We all know there is a better than even chance The Champ will come down the aisle in Dallas to defend the company he does night after night when he is not injured.

Cena teased fans when he was asked at the Daytona 500 about his chances of wrestling six weeks from now. But if you are a betting man (or woman) the money should be on Cena to get in the ring.

Cena’s career might be closer to being over, so other than another shot at his 16th title reign, his best position would be to defend the company much in the same way Sting defended WCW and later TNA.

WWE wanted a Cena-Taker legends match. The company and the fans still might get what they wanted all along.

#3 Randy Orton

This would be a great show

Orton’s name hasn’t been mentioned in ages. We know he has had surgery, gotten married and have seen plenty of pictures of his new ink. As far as his wrestling career and his return to the ring, we have no idea.

Orton still has unfinished business with the Authority, which includes Vince McMahon. Does Shane play on this angle and ask the Viper to come back and take his place in the ring? It’s an odd stance to take and here is why.

Orton is not the type that would defend the honor of the company. He is a lone wolf and even as a babyface, is only out for himself. The move would be earth shattering. The match might be awesome.

#2 Sting

There hasn’t been a whisper about Sting of late

Could it be? Could the man everyone wanted to see come to WWE and make a huge splash facing Undertaker finally give us the match we all wanted for years?

There is no word on Sting’s injuries he suffered at Night of Champions or whether he will ever wrestle again. But he will be in Dallas for the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. It stands to figure the rumors of a potential confrontation with ‘Taker could heat up in a big way.

I like the angle, but not sure if he can work a program with his recent injury and give us a stellar match. The possibility of this happening, however, leaves us all salivating.

#1 The Rock

Time to lay the smackdown on Taker

We smell what Shane is cooking here. There isn’t a defined role for the Great One yet in Dallas. Most of us think it will have something to do with the match between Triple H and Roman Reigns. But that is too obvious a choice.

Will The Rock’s movie career allow him to get back in the ring? And if he does, how much will time off from wrestling show in this kind of match? Still, the fans could eat this one up as it may be the final match for both wrestlers.

Of the three choices, this might be the least likely, but fans might like it the most.
