Wrestlemania won’t be what it is without the multitude of emotions it makes fans watching, feel. For 30 years, it has in some way or the other struck a chord with its fans and hence it has become the most prestigious showcase of the company. There is no other arena like a Wrestlemania arena. Over the 30 years of its existence, there have been many moments that are exclusive to this PPV. It has been quite an emotional journey and that is what the fans get excited about. So much of the tough job in wrestling is to make the ones watching the show care about what they’re watching. To get the people to care is the biggest success and to have them invest so much of their emotion is priceless. Here are the 10 most emotional moments in Wrestlemania history -

#10 Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth reunite

Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth were the most charming couple in WWE history. In the realm of the WWE they were the eternal sweethearts. So, imagine the dismay when they went their separate ways after Macho man became a heel and made Sensational Queen Sherri his new manager? They were apart for two years on screen. So, it was quite an emotional outburst when they finally reunited at Wrestlemania 7. This was the time when kayfabe was thriving and despite both of them being married off-screen, people still got involved in the fictional storyline where it was shown that they’ve parted ways.

#9 The Double Turn

This makes the list for its sheer uniqueness. The double turn hasn’t been executed as perfectly and enchantingly as it was in this match between Bret Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 13.

Hart started this match a face and Steve Austin was a heel. The entire match told a story where Hart went from a humble babyface to an egostical heel. He locked Austin in a Sharpshooter and Austin refused to quit and that led to the Rattlesnake going unconscious. It was a braveheart moment and that made fans to switch their loyalties from Hart to Austin.

#8 The Nature Boy\'s last match

The build up to Wrestlemania 24 saw rumors swirling around that this will be the end of Ric Flair’s wrestling odyssey. Flair came out one night on Raw and said, formidably, that he’ll never retire. And then Vince McMahon made the announcement that the next match that Flair lost will be his last. Flair’s road to Wrestlemania saw him make miraculous comebacks to win every match up until Wrestlemania. He was like Andre Agassi in his last U.S Open. He was the Showman, the Showstopper.

Speaking of Showstoppers, Shawn Michaels came to the fore and took up the emotional challenge of facing his friend. He had Flair’s blessing for the match but Flair reiterated that he won’t lose and hence he won’t retire.

Their match at Wrestlemania will be remembered for many things but one thing stood out. Michaels uttered ‘I Love you’ before stomping Flair with the Sweet Chin Music for the pin.

And the win.

#7 Shawn Michaels\' Turn

Who knew that just like his friend Ric Flair, HBK’s career will see its twilight at Wrestlemania? In retrospect, this is the biggest stage to bid farewell. It means you went out after reaching the highest level of your career. Shawn Michaels lost another great match to the Undertaker whose streak he obsessively wanted to conquer. Michaels hasn’t laced up his wrestling boots since. That has given the match more of a legendary status.

This is HBK’s second appearance on the list and it certainly won’t be his last. He’s not called Mr. Wrestlemania for nothing.

#6 Boyhood dream

For a match that went beyond 60 minutes, this could have been an emotionally draining experience. But for 60 minutes Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels had the audience biting their nails to see who’s going to win the match. The Iron Man match saw these two men refusing to let the other take the advantage. It looked more or less like a grudge match given the issues between them backstage were somewhat out in the open. That was a big deal in those kayfabe days.

Shawn Michaels won the match and that led to him giving that lasting image of looking, proudly, teary-eyed, at the championship title. And at the same time he wanted Bret Hart to leave the ring. He wanted to celebrate his glory alone,

Much of an emotional overload.

#5 Stage of The Immortals

This was surreal. But just pinch yourself, because it was real.

Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock were in the ring at the same time and what a once-in-a life moment it was. It was hilarious (Hogan’s flub with the arena’s name), it was nostalgic and it just felt right.

And above all of it, it was a moment of respect- for everything they’ve done for the WWE and for all the memories they’ve given the fans to live innumerable times.

The happiness!

#4 Hogan body slams Andre The Giant

The moment that began it all. Wrestlemania won’t be called the showcase of Immortals if it wasn’t for this original surreal moment. Hogan did something unprecedented. He lifted Andre the Giant and body slammed him to the mat. The arena went berserk. Nobody could ever imagine this happing to The Giant but it did. The legend of Hulk Hogan got stronger and if Wrestlemania was mainstream before, this moment just elevated its position to the top of wrestling lore.

#3 The show of respect

Shawn Michaels’ obsession with breaking the streak is a story in itself. Even greater was when Michaels returned, not for a match, but for his friend Triple H. He wanted HHH to beat the Undertaker. He wasn’t yet done with his resolve of ending The Undertaker’s streak and he saw a ray of hope in his best friend vying for the same goal.

He became the special guest referee for the match and what a match that was! After that spectacular match, the moment that stood out was Undertaker and HBK lending a shoulder to Triple H and all three of them helped each other walk out of Wrestlemania with a show stealing moment.

#2 What dreams are made of

Speaking of dreams, the kind of momentum that the Yes Movement recieved in the past couple of years is the stuff that dreams are made of. It caught on like a wildfire and it just couldn’t be stopped. Daniel Bryan was never meant to main event Wrestlemania, much less win it. But all the stars aligned and the star got his rightful place on the top of the WWE echelon - A Main Event Wrestlemania Moment.

Daniel Bryan is not your typical, protocal WWE big guy. He’s not that great on the mic. But, by God, he’s a great wrestler. His energy is unmatched and he’s an all-out babyface and that’s hard to find these days in the WWE.

Battling injuries and odds and overwhelming support from the fans, he made it to Wrestlemania.

Even with the barrage of confetti, the arms raised in a unison of Yes couldn’t be missed.

#1 Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero Celebrate

Can anything ever possibly come close to matching this moment? How can one find an equivalent to this?

This was a story of blood, sweat and tears. All of that culminating, finally, into one magical Wrestlemania moment. J.R. choked while announcing Benoit’s career-defining victory in the triple threat main event. Benoit won by submission after Triple H, all bloody faced, tapped out to the Crossface.

This wasn’t the high the night ended on. WWE crowned this with the most memorable Wrestlemania moment and Eddie Guerrero came out to congratulate his friend and salute their hard earned journey to the grandest stage of them all.
