‘The Rock and Sock Connection’WWE isn’t just a realm where you wrestle and talk promos, in all due seriousness, to get a storyline ahead. Sometimes you need to just take the audience out for a good laugh.A lot of these pranks are pulled on heels by the babyfaces and that’s what makes it work with the audience, so they can actually enjoy whatever’s the heel going through. Over the years, there have been many that worked and some that did not work. This list looks mostly at the moments that it did work.Here are the 10 pranks wrestlers pulled off on other stars
#1 It Doesn\'t Matter
So, Mick Foley returns to the WWE as a commissioner at the beginning of the 21st century. The Rock is only 28 years old and he’s already a 5 time WWE champion and well, he comes out to greet his old friend and former tag team partner Foley.
Foley builds Rock up listing out his accomplishments and then he asks the Rock “How does that make you feel?”. And the moment Rock attempts to answer, Foley plays The Rock’s own catchphrase on him saying,”It doesn’t matter how it makes you think?”
He pulled it off perfectly and then sprinted around the ring like he’s just won a championship. You may begin watching the video at 1:46.
#2 Ice Bucket Challenge
There were many WWE wrestlers who took to the much trending ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, but Creative weaved in the trend so well in the feud between Rollins and Ambrose that it was a great little prank being played on the former Mr. Money In The Bank.
What’s even better is after Ambrose does the deed he looks confused by Rollins’ shock and angusih. He says.”What?! It’s for charity’, only to immediately attack his former teammate and being separated by people.
#3 Oh! It\'s true
Kurt Angle and Edge had a memorable feud. One, because it began the most well-versed chant with his theme song that the audience never forgot to mention, two, they had a hair vs hair match and Angle lost and till date he hasn’t grown back his hair.
This video right here is when they were just beginning their feud. Edge comes around and reminds Angle how great friends they were. He’s got some pictures supporting those memories. But the moment Edge raises one of them to make Angle take a look, the pictures are funnier for what’s written on their back.
#4 That one movie scene
The Bellas are the ultimate mean girls in the WWE.
So, it’ll be only characteristic for them to play a prank oft seen on TV and the movies. They stole Paige’s clothes while she was taking a shower right before her match against Summer Rae. She caught one of Adam Rose’s crew member called a Rosebud and wore her frock to the ring for a match. Ain’t nothing going to stop Paige from wrestling a match!
The statement Paige made later, ”I don’t need clothes to make me look good” was more reflective of the generation of women The Bellas represented- the ones who weren’t wrestlers but models, who were there for the prime reason of how they looked than how they could wrestle or talk.
#5 Boo!
This happened right when the Kane- Lita angle was beginning to get seriously a longtime one. And in retrospect, this angle did stem Lita’s eventual heel turn that continued for the rest of her full time career.
Here, Trish is a heel and Lita is the babyface. The longtime, legendary rivals are having a talk with Stratus triggered, she was trying to be all supportive and concernbed when she pretended like Kane was right behind Lita. And he wasn’t. The heel was celebrating the fact that the prank worked only to get attacked by Lita.
#6 Towels, again
Well, Edge and Christian were one of the best, most legendary tag teams ever and that will forever remain the same. But Christian had another great tag team with a fellow Canadian- that being Chris Jericho. Together, they became tag team champions and were quite hilarious to say the least.
So, they are searching everywhere backstage for their stolen gear, walking around in towels. Then they come outside to the ramp to take their clothes back from the Dudleys.
The Dudleys not only throw their clothes bag into the crowd, they even asked Spike to take the towels.
#7 Tag Team Champions
Remeber the hilarious time when Daniel Bryan and kane were at loggerheads but still a team and they went through Anger Management classes. Well, that was the time when each one of them separately went around saying that they were the ‘tag team champions’.
So, Bryan is going on a loop backsatge with that phrase with Dr. Shelby and AJ Lee until Kane pauses everything by pouring a bucket of gatorade on his partner, excitedly running away saying that the big red monster is going to Disneyland. you can skip to 1.37 if you like
#8 Superstar treatment
One of the best aspects of the beginning of this year was the pairing of The Miz and Damien Sandow. This worked so well for Sandow to get over and it showed how dependable and entertaining the Miz is.
Sandow played his stunt double and in the midst of their feud with Dolph Ziggler, the showoff had some unflattering pictures of the self-confessed most must see superstar in WWE history. One of those pictures involves Miz getting a full body spray tan from Mizdow.
#9 Ha- Ha
There was once a time when a reunited Triple H and HBK were feuding against Vince McMahon and making life a whole lot of hell for the Chairman. DX then pulled one of the history books of the WWE. Remember the time when McMahon pranked the entire world by exploding his car and making people believe that he’d died?
Well, something similar happened when he sat in his car on a Raw episode and the long shot shows fireworks going out. It is a mild representation of that time McMahon did this for his own advantage but this time DX just scared the ever living crap out of the Chairman.
#10 One from back in the day
There was also once a time when Regal and Jericho, the two recruits from WCW, were having a feud in the WWE. The Englishman and the Canadian were at loggerheads. So, once Jericho replaced/ mixed Regal’s tea with, um, well let’s just say that Jericho took a leak in that kettle.
And then Regal unknowingly tasted it. Well, you got to love the throwback when Jericho is walking around in a towel backstage when the Dudleys took his and Christian clothes and see Regal just enjoying the whole occasion.
