3 Possible endings for Triple H vs Sting at Wrestlemania 31

The King of Kings and the Icon are all set to do battle at Wrestlemania 31. As far as Sting is concerned, his WWE debut could not have come any earlier for fans, as the best part of 14 years had elapsed until Sting finally signed with the WWE.The storyline for this feud has been kept simple, perhaps owing to Sting's limited appearance dates on Raw. While enjoying the momentous occasion of Sting opening Monday Night Raw though, it was apparent that the WWE did not want to build the match as a WWE versus WCW match.Instead, Sting claimed he was there to take Triple H out, on account of all the underhanded tactics he had used in order to attain the upper echelons of power in the WWE.Here is a look at how the dream match between two legends might play out, come Wrestlemania 31.

#1 Stinger makes a Splash!

It is highly unlikely that the WWE would have Sting lose his first ever match in a WWE setup, that too at Wrestlemania 31 - the grandest stage of them all. While nonetheless expecting a classic to and fro match, that emotionally draws in the audience, we have to take into account potential fan reaction if Sting were to lose.

Sting has arguably been the most coveted superstar by the WWE, and while this may be because he held off on signing with them for a long period, it would still be a bitter pill to swallow for the audience were Sting to lose his first ever WWE and Wrestlemania match.

Hence it is very likely that Sting would go on to pick up the victory, and move on to other feuds after the extravaganza. This Wrestlemania might also mark the end of " The Authority", that has been the main heel power-stable in the WWE lately, and Sting's victory over Triple H could be the final nail in the coffin.

#2 King of Kings reigns supreme!

Though this would be a shock victory, the WWE could still go on to let Triple H pick up the win over Sting. Though the build-up to the match has been found wanting of a greater deal of physical altercation between the superstars, whatever in-ring interaction that they did have has firmly placed Sting in the driver’s seat, with Triple H coming off worse on each occasion.

Though the WWE has booked Sting in a somewhat similar manner to his vigilante gimmick in WCW, the fact that Sting has had the upper hand over Triple H thus far, points worryingly to a reverse of trend at Wrestlemania 31.

If Triple H does win though, I don’t see it being a clean victory, and maybe an interference from Stephanie McMahon could help tip the match in his favour. Ric Flair has come out recently to profess his belief that Triple H will pick score the victory over Sting at Wrestlemania 31, and while this might be a tactic used by the WWE to shroud the potential outcome of the match, one can only hope that the ‘Naitch’ has got this one wrong.

#3 Icon versus Icon?

Undertaker versus Sting has probably been the one of the most desired dream matches in the history of the business, and come Wrestlemania 31, the WWE could avail the opportunity to start the build-up for a potential match between the two at Wrestlemania 32.

The rumours circulating the internet seem to suggest that Wrestlemania 32 might host Undertaker’s last match before he retires for good. With Sting also set to stay on with the WWE after this Wrestlemania, the WWE could look to use the last remaining opportunity to pit these two legends against one another.

The Undertaker could make an appearance after the Sting- Triple H match, and even a silent stare down with Sting is bound to evoke very strong currents of audience reaction. Though bringing The Undertaker out immediately after the match might overshadow and take away from the match itself, the WWE could still be tempted to create an instant all-time classic Wrestlemania moment between the two legends.
