5 WWE Heel/Face turns that should happen in 2015

There are a plethora of problems which haunt the current WWE programming. Though most of them will be hard to solve without Vince McMahon’s retirement, there are a few factors that could be changed while Vince is still at the helm. The heel/face turns in the company belongs to that list. It is the good guy – bad guy dynamics that makes professional wrestling tick after all and knowing when to turn a superstar is the key to success.Vince has been doing the same for decades now and he should deliver the best decisions in his arsenal this year. It looks set to be a horrible year for the company and here is a look at some of the heel/face turns that could change the scenario by a bit.

#6 Honorable Mentions: Cody Rhodes and Sheamus

Sheamus is still being left out by the WWE Creative Team since his injury, but he has recovered now and was touted to be back in the ring as a babyface. There were also rumours that Sheamus and Bryan could face each other at the WrestleMania 31.

All that could have been done, if Sheamus first returns to the ring. Royal Rumble was set as the platform, but WWE somehow made no such plans for him and now fans are expecting him to return at the next main event WWE Fast Lane.

#5 Bray Wyatt Face

Bray managed to build himself as a cult leader during his heel run. If he could do that, imagine what Bray can achieve as a babyface. WWE had a lot of chances to turn Bray face over the past year, but the booking team kept him rooted to the dark side.

He looks destined to face Undertaker at WrestleMania this year and turning Bray before that would be suicidal. So the best time to pull the plug would be after the showdown at Mania.

The Eater of the World will earn a lot of respect when he goes up against Taker and WWE could easily bank on this factor. A face run from Bray provides the writers with many options including the prospect of a Bray Wyatt vs Authority feud.

#4 Seth Rollins Face

This might sound idiotic at this point of the year, but Rollins should turn face before 2015 comes to an end. A majority of the fans doubted his potential as a heel initially, but Rollins proved all of them wrong by climbing to the top.

He could have a similar run as a babyface as well. And just like the Shield acted as a platform for his heel run, the Authority will work wonders for his face run.

So far, Triple H has been instrumental in making Rollins look good. If Hunter turns on Rollins at some point, it promises to be a great angle and an instant career changer for the Architect who also has the Money in the Bank briefcase.

#3 Daniel Bryan Heel

Before all the fans out there start to treat me like Roman Reigns, hear this out. Daniel Bryan is the most over babyface in WWE at the moment. But the company is not interested in pushing him to the top since he already reached their last year.

He headlined WrestleMania, he won the WWE Championship, and he defeated Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton in one night. There is nothing new for Bryan’s current babyface to achieve.

On the other hand, a heel turn could give him an extra mile. Bryan is at the danger of being stale just like John Cena and all that could change if the company decides to let Bryan prove his worth.

#2 Brock Lesnar Face

This turn will not hit on all cylinders if Lesnar leaves the company after WrestleMania. If he decides not to, then Lesnar’s face turn could go down in history as the top storyline of Summer 2015.

After returning to WWE a few years back, Lesnar’s character was limited. He did achieve a lot of things during the run, but there hasn’t been any development character wise for the Beast. It was Paul Heyman’s brilliance that made Lesnar look fresh every time he came out.

A Face Lesnar offers the company an exciting array of new opponents for him even if he is only wrestling four or five times in a year. Heyman being a face manager meanwhile is an add-on package that comes along.

#1 John Cena Heel

This, if done perfectly will solve almost all the problems of WWE. The wrath of fans will be cooled down when they see Cena play the bad guy after a decade long run on the good side.

The 50-50 reaction that Cena gets has been big headache for WWE. There aren’t many ways in which the company could get rid of it and turning Cena heel would probably be the most effective one. History suggests that Cena’s heel turn would be a ‘best for business’ move since names like Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart also went through such phase.

It is indeed a long shot in the current PG atmosphere of WWE but since the Triple H model of WWE does not have Cena in the plans, the Cenation leader might need a heel turn to catch up with the youngsters that Hunter will bring in.
