5 Immediate challengers for Alberto Del Rio's US title

Kevin Owens- The Brickhouse

It was much to the shock and delight of many that Alberto Del Rio returned to face John Cena for the US Title. What was quitesensational and consequentially considered a political move was to have Del Rio partner up with Zeb Colter and form a whole gimmick around the idea of Mex- America. That concept has not, if youve been following them, worked at all in getting Del Rio over.Heres the thing with Del Rio, despite being a gifted athlete, he just hasnt ever been over as a heel or a face. He needs a good challenger. Here are5 immediate challengers for Del Rio's US title-

#1 Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens- The Brickhouse

“Do you know who missed you when you were gone? Nobody”

Owens got that so precisely right that it deserves a continuation. Since unification seems all the trend these days, it won’t be quite a distant thought to unite the US and Intercontinental title. If that’s unconvincing, then it won’t be quite a bad idea to have one person hold both the US and IC titles. That can be interesting.

Owens certainly has the power to be over. He’s great on the mic, great in the ring and just a great overall performer. If he doesn’t win this Sunday, apart from a potential IC title feud with Ambrose, facing Del Rio should be next on the list.

#2 R- Truth

Everybody loves R -Truth

How entertaining is R- Truth?

He’s not even featured on the main roster that much, but when he is given the opportunity to be under the spotlight, he never disappoints. He’s funny and is over as a performer. The audience adores him, even if his imagination gets the better of him and makes him mix fascination with reality.

But it will be interesting if R- Truth does begin a feud with Del Rio. He’ll bring some much-needed humor to this dire situation and question the logicality behind this ‘Mex- America’ concept.

#3 Jack Swagger

The All-American American

This is definitely a shoo- in. It’s just confusing why Swagger is not in the picture already. The one person to be really bothered by Colter’s new ‘adventure’ should be Swagger. And we’ve seen him question Colter once.

The All-American American’s gimmick gives him much leverage to challenge for the US Title.

Out of everyone on this list, he’s the most obvious choice to challenge Del Rio. Colter has gone quite wayward with this idea and somebody needs to put some sense in his head. And also, Colter and Swagger were a much effective alliance.

#4 Tyler Breeze

Prettiness overload

There have been rumors swirling around that Tyler Breeze is not meant for the main event tier of the main roster.

While this is ridiculous and hence expected to come from the WWE, it will be no shock that Mr. Gorgeous will shine with the US title with him. Breeze is currently embroiled in a feud with Ziggler but if mid card is what he’s destined for, for now, then there is potential in him beginning a feud with Del Rio.

His qualities will shine since he’s much comfortable with his gimmick and on the mic than Del Rio.

#5 Damien Sandow

All behold the return of the savior of masses.

Where is Damien Sandow? Alright, he did return recently going back to his gimmick of the ‘Intellectual savior of the masses’. That’s great. What’s also great is his skill on the mic.

That guy can talk and he’s dedicated with every bit of his performance. He can be the best person to talk some sense into Del Rio and Zeb Colter and completely decimate the very ideology of Mex-America.

Sandow deserves to get more attention for the kind of work he puts in and there is no doubt about. It’ll be interesting to see him back on the main roster.
