It has been a long time since this mid card title got its due. It was previously used as a stepping stone for superstars who were considered to be future world champions. And then over the years, it just lost its way.Ever since, there have been only talks and discussions and articles about how it needs to be revitalized or the moment has come to reclaim its former glory but those moments soon passed. But lately,it has really made a giant leap. Here are the five moments that has helped its cause.

#1 Dolph Ziggler wins

It is a fact that Ziggler hasn’t been utilized up to his potential. He is one of the most over faces but he has seldom tasted the success that he deserves. He hasn’t yet become a mainstay of the main event scene, which he should have a long time ago.

That fact hasn’t yet derailed the fans from cheering for him ardently. It was thus great to see him win a championship title after so long.

#2 The Miz\'s involvement

As the saying goes “It takes two to Tango”

As much as the saying of ‘wrestling with a broom stick’ goes, it is really not that prevalent. The credit for the redemption of the IC title should go to the one whom Dolph Ziggler defeated to win it.

The Miz made his return as a heel and won the title as a heel would at a Battle Royal eliminating Ziggler in the final moments of the match. This began their feud where Miz thrived in his Hollywood gimmick, making way for his delightful stunt double in Damien Sandow or Mizdow. The rest is history.

#3 Winning and losing again

The Miz and Ziggler faced each other for quite sometime and for once, Miz defeated Ziggler to reclaim his lost title but only 24 hours later when Mizdow debuted a replica IC title belt, Miz lost it again to Dolph Ziggler in some spectacular fashion which was met with a triumphant roar from the crowd.

This could have become a scene from the current divas division where titles are just changing hands between two performers but it didn’t. instead it made way for newer opportunities.

#4 Enter Cesaro

Cesaro hasn’t had much to do storyline wise ever since he and Paul Heyman parted ways. But that hasn’t exactly made Cesaro look weak.he has been able to hold his own in the ring with absolutely any superstar he has had to face. Sure, he took a backseat in the best feud of the year. He has had to take many attacks and assaults at the hands of Ambrose.

But yet, he’s had spectacular and dominant showing in most of his matches. His popularity remains intact with the hardcore fanbase. That was why it was a great opportunity and led to a great bit of excitement to see this hardcore favorite go against Ziggler, who is also a hardcore fans favourite.

#5 Hell hath the fury

That match at Hell in a Cell was the crescendo of their brief yet excellent feud.

Cesaro lost in two falls but yet he did not appear to look weak at all. He towered his spectacular opponent for most of the match. That moment where he countered the bear hug with a second rope suplex was spectacular, especially when Ziggler sold it to the core.

Ziggler was exceptional as usual. This match was on the heels of another great match Cesaro had against Sheamus. No matter if the feud gets boring, Cesaro’s involvement is bound to create great matches.

The IC title has now had Miz, Sandow, Ziggler and Cesaro in the scene. It can only get better
