5 possible opponents for Triple H at WrestleMania 32

Part 2?

Roman Reigns has a bone to pick with Triple HTriple H went from a two-match-a-year wrestler to a one-match-a-year wrestler, and right now he only wrestles at WrestleMania every year, and next year’s show looks no different. This article looks at the top five potential opponents for him, in no particular order. It’s safe to say Triple H would still be a heel at the time, so his possible opponent will likely be a babyface, which will be focused on in this slideshow. With WWE trying to break the indoor attendance record at next year’s show, in Arlington, Texas, there is sure to be a high profile match involving The Game. Triple H could face a veteran, a current star or anyone, to be honest.Let’s look at five potential opponents for The Cerebral Assassin-

#1 Sting

Part 2?

Although Sting already lost to Triple H at WrestleMania 31, there could be a rematch at next year’s event. WWE is no stranger to having rematches at consecutive WrestleManias. The Rock vs John Cena, and Triple H vs The Undertaker are two good examples.

The story is pretty straightforward. Although Sting even wrestling at the event is doubtful, if he does, he could still be defying The Authority and aim for redemption against the man he lost to in his first WWE match ever.

Perhaps this match could be less crowded and just have both men clobber it out to the end. And maybe Sting would actually receive a win on pay-per-view. A man can dream, can’t he?

#2 Roman Reigns

Probably the easiest to book

Considering recent events, it would seem like Roman Reigns is heading into a title match at WrestleMania, but it could go differently. Roman Reigns vs Triple H has been a rumoured match for a long time now, even being highly rumoured for last year’s SummerSlam.

It would be a great match, without a doubt. The way to go about it is pretty simple as well.

Just look at how Daniel Bryan got a match against Triple H at WrestleMania XXX. Roman Reigns simply needs to blackmail Triple H, or taunt him into a match. As is always with wrestling, if something like that happens, there will be a match.

#3 Kurt Angle

There is hope

Come as a surprise?

Kurt Angle has recently accounced his retirement from TNA, which will be effective after their UK Tour, which ends on the 31st of January.

While Angle has said that he wants to take a year off from pro wrestling after that, it could just be a cover up. The Royal Rumble may be done with by then, but that doesn't rule out a potential WWE return.

There is no denying that Angle is an incredibly gifted technician, and so is Triple H. Both men, even at this age, could pull off something great. The story could be as simple as Sting’s was. Angle could want the Authority out of power because he thinks they are too corrupt to run the business, and naturally Triple H could oppose that.

What makes this entry special is that it would be the most surprising, and surprise is something rare in the modern, internet-dominated professional wrestling scene. The very spectacle of seeing Kurt Angle back in the WWE could sell this match on its own.

#4 Sheamus

Perhaps the old rivalry can be renewed

This isn’t very likely, but it is still a strong possibility. The catch here is, Triple H might be the babyface.

With Sheamus now a part of The Authority, replacing Seth Rollins as its Golden Boy, holding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, it would seem certain that he will break away from the faction at some point in the future. However, what if Triple H becomes the good guy?

Perhaps a situation where Sheamus gets cocky and turns his back on The Authority, or attacks Triple H to display his over-confidence would sell Triple H as a babyface.

However, having the WWE World Heavyweight Chamionship match at WrestleMania be between Sheamus and Triple H seems foolish. Both men did meet at WrestleMania XXVI before, but it isn’t like their match was anything special.

It is still a route that WWE could go with. Having Triple H cost Sheamus the championship and having this match without any gold involved could be good too.

Both men could pull off a great match, but having this sell would be difficult. The stakes would have to be set high. Perhaps a retirement match, with a stipulation that if Triple H lost, he would have to retire. Or maybe Sheamus could want complete control over The Authority and WWE, and that could be the stipulation.

#5 Daniel Bryan

Yes! Yes! Yes?

Daniel Bryan is slated to return around the time of the Royal Rumble, and there are quite a few directions that WWE could take the Flying Goat in. He could win the Rumble and be placed into the title match.

He could resume his chase for the Intercontinental Championship, and reclaim what he never lost. He could go a completely different route and perhaps wrestle for the United States Championship. Or he could reignite his feud with The Authority, and Triple H.

Coming to this is pretty simple. Going back to last year, The Authority took plenty of digs at Bryan even after his injury, and do so even now. Bryan could play off of that, saying that he would never truly finish what he started without banishing The Authority completely.

Considering that Bryan’s and Hunter’s first WrestleMania match was so good, this could be a no brainer. It could potentially steal the show, and WWE could be sure to cash in on that.
