How will WWE make Sting Vs Rollins work?On and on and on the monologue went. As an ardent wrestling fan you knew there was no statue. There were rumors of Sting making an appearance. This was a Summerslam fallout show. So, there was something big supposed to happen. It wasn’t the unveiling of Rollins’ statue, the thought of which is quite premature at this point. Sting stood tall as the curtain was raised, sweating his facepaint off. As electric as this moment was, it makes little sense at this point. A veteran returns to aim at the biggest WWE title there is, from someone who is the future of the business. Here are the 5 reasons why Sting vs Seth Rollins for the title makes little sense

#5 If Sting wins

A veteran returns and this veteran happens to be a man named Sting. WWE is building this up as “What once was, can be again”. They’re trying to get the nostalgia angle across and making the fans want to see Sting’s legacy being incomplete without him ever having won the biggest title there is in the WWE.

This has forever been a tried and tested method. Not sure if Sting will come out victorious or if he does, whether he’ll hold the title for long. This may just be a case of trying to build excitement for the actual showdown.

Sting winning the title seems more of an ending than a beginning of a new chapter.

#4 Why Rollins?

How can anyone forget this moment?

Okay, so whenever there is injustice, there is Sting trying to save the universe. But after going after Triple H and losing in a bizarre yet entertaining match at Wrestlemania 31, Sting is aiming for his protege in Seth Rollins now. The Authority has continued with their evil ways before and beyond Wrestlemania 31. Sting wasn’t able to overcome Triple H. He even shook his hand after their match.

Coming after Seth Rollins is just too sudden and this is where Reality TV mixing up with kayfabe messes logic up.

#3 If Sting loses.

Losing again won’t work for Sting.

So, if Sting loses what does that do to his stock? Well, popular opinion may be that his stock will fall. He’s already lost against HHH after some tremendous build up. Everyone expected him to win but he did not. And now he faces Rollins. He may be just there to put Rollins more over. Seriously, you do not need a veteran to put a guy like Rollins over, he can do that by fighting anyone since he’s a tremendous performer.

But if Sting loses to Rollins as well, then it may do more harm than good.

#2 Part Timer

Past vs Future

Here’s another problem. Sting is a part timer with the company. Him winning the title will only raise a lot of questions about the WWE’s hesitancy to trust and invest in its future. Sting is not as young and athletic as Brock Lesnar is. Brock Lesnar can make a part time deal seem reasonable. He has Paul Heyman to fill in for him with promos. Sting’s reign may be as forgettable as The Rock’s reign.

This feud may be memorable if Sting is able to turn Rollins to the good side. Remember the rumors that Rollins was to turn babyface soon. How about that happening soon?

#1 A Clean Rollins win

When will he finally win clean?

The last clean win Rollins had was against Dean Ambrose at Money in the Bank this year. And if Rollins wins clean against Sting, it’s going to be so surprising that it'll be awesome. And that may lead to Triple H pulling off what he did to Orton in 2004, He could get pissed at Rollins for beating Sting clean which Triple H couldn’t and that might trigger a Rollins face turn. But then again, Sting losing clean or not is a bad idea for him personally.

This has to be a really precarious feud to lead with.
