5 WWE superstars who can match Brock Lesnar's physicality in the ring

Brock Lesnar- a name that has become synonymous with dominance in the WWE Universe. 2014 was an exceptional year for The Beast Incarnate as he wiped out every obstacle in his way. He conquered the legendary Streak of The Undertaker and demolished John Cena in one of the most one-sided matchups at SummerSlam to win the WWE World Heavyweight title. At Wrestlemania 31, it was the same old story as Lesnar manhandled Roman Reigns for most parts of the match. Although Reigns, took control in the dying minutes of the bout, every bit of their efforts went to waste as Seth Rollins made the biggest briefcase cash-in in Wrestlemania history and ended up winning the main event.Even though it was mostly a Lesnar show, one thing that made the bout interesting was the fact that Reigns looked like a believable draw against the Beast. Maybe it was him laughing to give an idea that he was enjoying the fight, maybe it was the intense physical match that gave away the impression. But it did feel like a match where the opponent can stand up to the freak of an athlete, Lesnar.Keeping that in mind, we have decided to list out five superstars who can step into the ring against Brock and match his physicality inside the squared circle. Take a look.

#5 Luke Harper

Although the Wyatt Family was mainly built to portray Bray Wyatt, it really hit off the WWE careers of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper, and very well too. And having this creepy persona, Luke Harper really gathered up reputations after excellent performances over time. Of course, the Indy watchers knew him as Brodie Lee, but for a WWE fan, seeing a man of his size perform moves such as the suicide dive was something astonishing.

And ever since the split of the Wyatt Family, Harper has been involved in lots of singles matches where he has come performed well in the ring. The only thing lacking is a proper gimmick for him now, and the old creepy one with ragged clothes just doesn’t suit him anymore. Should he find a better gimmick and get a push, he will be one of the best guys to pit against Brock Lesnar. Given Harper’s stature and agility in the ring, they will have an excellent match-up physically in the ring.

#4 Rusev

Save for John Cena, Rusev would still be undefeated in the WWE. It’s been a year since his debut on WWE Raw and Rusev has yet to have a feud that isn’t based upon the US-America hostility. However, every feud, has subsequently managed to increase his stature as a monster. Despite his loss, he has come across strong from the match.

And that makes him a strong competitor for Brock’s unassailable position in the WWE charts. His moves such as the superkick are delivered with high impact not to mention the Accolade. He has still a long way to go considering his experience but just like Lesnar, he too was given a major push immediately upon his debut. He might not have reached the heights of Lesnar back then, but the similarities are too much to be ignored.

#3 Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt does look a less serious candidate in this list compared to the others, but in retrospect, he is probably one of the most capable men to take on Brock Lesnar. Even during the days of the Wyatt family, Bray Wyatt was a strong in-ring personality who could work well with anyone. His recent losses may have affected him a bit but not much harm they’d have done.

His run in the Royal Rumble for a long time should be testament to his capabilities in the ring. And not to mention, Wyatt’s gimmick ensures that Lesnar doesn’t go into the match his full strength. It will be interesting, should these two ever meet one-on-one but one thing that would be assured is a physical battle within the squared circle.

#2 Ryback

He’s had a roller-coaster run in the WWE ever since his debut in the Nexus. He has reached near the peak and been in the title picture but since then, his heel turn did him little favour. However, following the injury, his return as a face has gone on quite well. Suffice it to say, he gets more cheers than Roman Reigns does.

And for a long time, he has had the ‘big guy’ gimmick. Along with “Feed me more” chants, his intimidating body structure makes up for a strong guy in the ring. Although he has an underwhelming finisher, most of his moves come down heavily due to the impact of his strikes. All this ensures that he can be a potential match-up for Brock Lesnar and not go in to the match as a downright underdog.

#1 Roman Reigns

Ever since the heydays of The Shield, Roman Reigns has been built up as the ‘Powerhouse’. Given his moveset and the finisher, people have always likened him to Goldberg. And one cannot say they are too far apart, considering their footballing backgrounds as well. And positing that, we can say that Roman Reigns has a great physical presence in the ring.

He has the looks and build for it, albeit the in-ring ability. However, as seen in the WrestleMania main event, Reigns put up one hell of a show as he proved his critics wrong. The way he laughed at Lesnar after taking a beating showed him as a resolute competitor to the Beast. If we’re looking for one man properly built up by the WWE as a potential match-up to Lesnar, it is hard to look beyond Roman Reigns.
