Kane vs Kane

You’ll be surprised to know who fake Kane was! As is the case with the WWE, so often logic deserts them. There was a time when Vince McMahon actually had two guys play Razor Ramon and Diesel after Kevin nash and Scott Hall left for WCW. And as is the case with such storylines, they fade away without any logic as well.Sometimes, things work out, though. And sometimes the original superstars get to face their duplicates. It’s not the best place to have a meaningful storyline but it is the best way to showcase and demarcate the original from the imitator. Here are five instances when superstars faced themselves-

#1 The Legend of The Mask

<p>

Of course, this was ridiculous but it had this certain sense of logic attached to it given the gimmick Kane played. The mask, just like the Undertaker’s urn, is an important piece of the puzzle that is this otherworldly gimmick.

Kane had been unmasked for quite some time in the early part of the 21st century.

This led Luke Gallows to come out dressed like 1997 Kane, They began a feud for the mask and ended it with a terrible match at Vengence. Gallows is currently on RAW and is a two-time Tag Team Champion – something that he’s earned after a fruitful Japanese expedition.

#2 The Men Named Sting

The Man named Sting

During ths break that Sting took from wrestling, Eric Bischoff brought an impostor. The audience instantly believed it was the real Sting.

Sting and Lex Luger were against NWO at the time and would team up frequently to face the NWO. But onnce imposter Sting came he attacked Luger. The duplicate Sting was trying to be as brooding and as silent as the real one but the man actually named Sting came back, Luger didn’t listen to any of his reasonings.

And so later on, he took all NWO members out, including fake Sting.

He became the brooding badass loner again.

#3 Two Sin Caras

Cara vs Cara

This entire gimmick was a plain botch. Sin Cara was a huge deal in Mexico but in the WWE he was a Botchmania regular. He got injured and WWE asked Hunico to fill in those shoes for the time being and he did really well. he was better at being Sin Cara than Sin Cara.

But then WWE had the real Sin Cara returned. What ensued was a change in color of their wrestling gear and a match, which was better than expected but all of it was an entire mess of a storyline.

#4 Two Takers

Spot Underfaker

In 1994, Undertaker’s feud with Yokozuna came to an end after he was dumped into a casket. He left the company for 7 months to take a break and nurse his injuries.

Undertaker did return after Wrestlemania X. But, wait, it wasn’t the Undertaker.

It was his travel buddy Brian Lee. But he was also The Undertaker. Logic did not desert the fans as they realized he’s no Undertaker and called him ‘Underfaker’. The real Undertaker returned at Summerslam and faced this imposter and defeated him after delivering three tombstone piledrivers.

A casket always seals the deal and it did so in this case.

#5 G-Bergs

The Rock with Gillberg

There was a time when the Light Heavyweight Championship was a thing in the WWE. There was also a time when WCW was in business.

Goldberg was one of WCW’s biggest draws. His undefeated streak is an important part of wrestling lore. While that was happening, WCW’s competition had a superstar who they began to make increasingly look like Goldberg but of course in an amusing fashion.

He was first known as Gill, only to be later known Gillberg. And as a parody, he was holding the Light Heavyweight Championship.

These two finally clapped eyes on each other after Goldberg finally signed with the WWE in 2003. Gill made a surprise appearance during Goldberg; feud with the Rock only to run away petrified.
