5 Wrong things about the road to WrestleMania 31

WWE’s biggest night of the year is just around the horizon and instead of that thick red fluid, WWE fans now have excitement coursing through their veins. Okay, maybe the fans are not excited as they should be but then again, it is WrestleMania that we are talking about. No matter how much a fan criticizes about the WWE, at the end of the day, he is going to buy tickets for WrestleMania and sit through the entire show no matter what crap the company is putting out. However, this doesn’t mean WWE should go out there and have a full-fledged screw up. They should be pretty careful about what they give their loyal fans and here is a look at some of the things Vince McMahon should address on the Road to WrestleMania 31.

#5 Not Giving Divas a chance

Let’s start off with the most obvious one here. The WWE divas has been treated with utter ignorance for the past few years now and when AJ Lee decided to stand up against it, all of a sudden, a social media movement started against the WWE.

While the main roster divas are treated as they don’t matter in the company, the girls down in NXT have a different story. They get paid better than the male superstars and also get some quality television time every time.

But the catch here is, the NXT divas are not going to be there for WrestleMania. If there is going to be a divas match at the pay-per-view, it will only come from the main roster. As long as the company doesn’t give proper importance to the girls, the fans will treat the match as a snack break and nothing more.

#4 Everything with Randy Orton

Randy Orton is a seasoned wrestler, period. But his booking on the road to WrestleMania has been a disaster. First of all, the company kept him out of the WWE from Survivor Series to Fast Lane. The return was delayed unwarrantedly and this leaves the company with only four weeks to build an angle for Orton.

Secondly, the reason for Orton going out of action was supposed to be the Authority. So when Orton returned, everyone expected him to go straight at the Authority.

But what we got was an Orton who buried his hatchet with Hunter and Stephanie. It was a blunder by the company and will take out a major chunk from the four week time that they have.

#3 Not hyping the battle royal properly

One of the major attractions of last year’s WrestleMania was the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. WWE is all set to bring out the second edition of the match at WrestleMania 31 but the aura is nowhere to be seen.

From the looks of it, the creative team will randomly throw in all the midcarders into the match and pick some random winner than serving the actual purpose of the match. It is unlikely to draw an interest at the pay-per-view and WWE should do something about it.

They should forget about the botch job with Cesaro’s push and redefine the battle royal. There could be qualifiers for the battle royal places and some returning superstars in the match to make it more exciting.

#2 Keeping Stings motivation a mystery

The match between Sting and Triple H is officially set for WrestleMania 31 but the fans still don’t know why these two men will be fighting. The story dates back to Survivor Series where Sting made his historic debut in the company.

He came out, cost Authority their match and went missing. So why did Sting target the Authority again? He could have just nailed Dolph Ziggler and helped the authority right? It is a big question indeed and WWE needs to solve the puzzle at the earliest.

With just four weeks away from Mania, WWE is running out of time and if they don’t sort this out, then the fans will find it a bit hard to invest in a match without many motives.

#1 Lesnar Chaos

Brock Lesnar’s championship reign has been under the microscope for a lot of reasons. One prominent reason among that lot is his limited appearance. When he became the champion, Lesnar was expected to be a part time champion but no one saw him missing out on the Road to WrestleMania.

WWE is building up the entire Mania main event with Lesnar at the protagonist and Lesnar’s absence is hurting the buildup. At the same time, Roman Reigns is struggling with his forgetful talking skills.

Paul Heyman covering up for Lesnar has run its course and the only thing that could save the buildup now is regular appearances from Lesnar. If the recent rumors of Lesnar’s friction with Vince are right, then things are going to get a whole lot worse for WWE.
