WWE Battleground 2014: 5 Reasons why Brock Lesnar should return at the pay-per-view

The fans have been buzzing about Brock Lesnar returning to WWE ever since he pulled off his disappearing act after he defeated the Undertaker at WrestleMania 30.Though Lesnar might only wrestle one or two matches in his short stint with the WWE, he is still considered as a big draw by both the company and the fans. There are still a lot of feuds which the WWE is eager to see Lesnar involved in and none of it is going to happen unless he makes his return. And as things stand now, there wont be a better time for Lesnar to return that the Battleground pay-per-view. So here is a look at five reasons why WWE should bring back Brock Lesnar soon.

#5 Refreshing Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman has been more than vocal about how his client Brock Lesnar conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak. Heyman has been trying to keep it fresh for the past three months and in the absence of Lesnar, the effect is fading off.

Also Heyman hanging out with Cesaro is doing no good for both the parties since WWE is not giving Cesaro the push that he deserves for one reason or the other.

Having Brock Lesnar by his side would be a big boost for Heyman who is struggling a bit to find his foot. This will also benefit to revamp Cesaro’s character to an extent as the company could work out a jealousy angle leading to a future match.

#4 Some interaction with the younger talent

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are superstars who have been linked closely with the WWE title in recent history. Right now, Cena being the champion has led to these two stars having interactions with the Cenation leader.

Just like this, the WWE could simply quench the thirst of WWE fans who want to see Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar standing tall in one ring.

There are rumors on how the WWE is planning to have Lesnar face Reigns at WrestleMania next year and the company could give us a teaser of that since Reigns is closely related to the title picture. Also Seth Rollins trying to cash in the contract on a beast like Lesnar also makes an intriguing storyline.

#3 The Big SummerSlam match

WWE usually have their best match card set up for SummerSlam. It is bound to be full of big names and Lesnar is almost sure to end up being part of the pay-per-view.

He is likely to face John Cena in a headlining match at SummerSlam and if the company has to have a good buildup for the same they should let Lesnar comeback by Battleground. Lesnar making a surprise return and taking out Cena would be a good starting point of the feud.

Also if Lesnar turns out to be the plan B of authority to have an established A+ player as the champion, this could also fuel the angle further giving WWE and the fans what they want at the SummerSlam.

#2 WWE does not have a heel outside Authority

This is a case file that has been raised every now and then. This weakness of WWE was there to be seen this week on Raw as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon was on vacation.

The next best thing that we have is Seth Rollins who looks like a good heel thanks to all those unpredictable things that Dean Ambrose manage to do. However, Lesnar is someone who belongs to a whole different level.

He has been aided by the fact that he ended Undertaker’s streak and also the microphone skills of Paul Heyman who can’t keep his mouth shut about how his client ended Taker’s streak.

Lesnar is one of those established heels that could stand apart from the Authority and give fans something new to stare at.

#1 Utilizing the Streak ending

Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak was something which the company blindly banked on whenever they felt short on the WrestleMania match card. It has also given fans some memorable matches as well while also having that aura which WWE rarely managed to produce.

The fans knew how to celebrate whenever Undertaker made his trademark entrance at WrestleMania as his streak was a phenomenon. The effects of Taker’s streak ending were something epic as the social media was buzzing with the figures 21-1.

Amidst all these was the man who ended the streak, Brock Lesnar. He was shot to the top of the ladder and also had immense amount of heat once he did that duty. However, WWE didn’t use Lesnar well after that and gave him a long holiday instead of letting him put over a younger star.

It better to be late than never and WWE could still reap the benefits of Taker’s streak ending if they put Lesnar in the right place at the right time doing the right stuff.
