WWE Extreme Rules 2015: 3 Possible Endings for Daniel Bryan vs. Bad News Barrett Match

What happens when a British Brawler locks horn with an American Technician with the Intercontinental Championship on the line? Well, we are going to find out the answer for this at Extreme Rules when Daniel Bryan will make his first major title defense against Bad News Barrett. The history between the two men dates back to their Nexus days and though the company would not be playing that card this time around, the match is expected to be a stellar outing for the fans. Following up the ladder match that took place at WrestleMania for the title will be impossible for the two men but they could steal the show on their own right. The way in which WWE is planning to end the match is what matters now and here is a look at the possible endings.

#3 Enter the Celtic Warrior

The return of Sheamus as a heel has certainly mixed the midcard up. The way in which he has embraced the heel persona is attracting some praise and he is the perfect candidate to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship next. For that, first Sheamus needs to make his mark at a pay-per-view stage and the next stop he has is Extreme Rules.

Once Barrett and Bryan wraps up their match at the pay-per-view, Sheamus could come out and knock out whoever is left standing or could even interfere in between the match to cement his heel status. Either way, he should get a title shot at the next pay-per-view since it is the only way in which WWE could push Sheamus as a serious character.

A lot of fans will not be happy about a botched ending so a post-match attack would be highly recommended unless Bryan and Barrett tears down the house before the ending.

#2 Bryan pays for his style

WWE officials are apparently unhappy with Daniel Bryan for his hard hitting style. He was supposed to tone down his wrestling moves after recovering from the injury but Bryan kept on going at the pace he always was in. There are a lot of concerns around the WWE about his health and it was one of the reasons why WWE kept him away from the WWE championship.

If Bryan continues the way he is without considering what the officials say him, it wouldn’t be a matter of time before he pays for it. Taking away the Intercontinental title from Bryan is what WWE could do first and it could happen at Extreme Rules.

Putting back the gold back on Barrett wouldn’t be a bad idea and it will probably give Bryan some time out as well to take some rest.

#1 One more chapter into the reign

If WWE decides to let Bryan continue with what he is doing now, then he is going to have a long run with the Intercontinental Championship. The reason why they gave him the title was to bring some credibility back into the midcard scene and for that Bryan needs to retain the title cleanly at Extreme Rules.

Barrett and Bryan do have a lot of chemistry in between them and could deliver a five star match if they want to. Barrett wouldn’t be buried with the loss if it is a good match and as far as Bryan is concerned, he will add another chapter to the reign that is looking likely to make it to the record books. A clean win for Bryan will also keep the fans happy which is what WWE wants at the end of the day.
