WWE Hell in a Cell 2014: 5 storylines worth following all the way to the Pay-Per-View

Night of Champions saw the death of some long running feuds while some others took birth. Despite the last pay-per-view being botched to the core, the loyal WWE fans are eagerly waiting for the next show which will be bought from the American Airlines Center in Texas in just one month’s time. The creative team of WWE didn’t do a particularly good job building up feuds to Night of Champion and can’t afford to repeat the same mistakes on their treacherous road to Hell in a Cell.As usual, there is a lot of potential waiting to be mined out in that same road and even if the WWE doesn’t provide us with a good reason to tune in, there are certain storylines that deserve our attention. So here is a look at those plots that is worth following all the way to Hell in a Cell.

#5 The early buildups of Survivor Series teams

Right amidst all the buildups for Hell in a Cell, the writers are sure to have their eyes set one step further on Survivor Series due to the sheer importance of the pay-per-view.

WWE managed to keep their heads high for three shows from the big four and Survivor Series has the ability to make the year or break the year.

There is a hint being dropped about a big traditional match at the pay-per-view with the Authority being on one side while the rebels on the other.

So far, Cena and Ambrose are the only ones standing up to the Authority leaving them outnumbered.

In order to build up a credible opposition for Hunter and his party, the writers will be looking to add some more rebels who has problem with Hitler reign and it’s always exciting to see a team being formed to battle against the evil that has risen.

#4 Cesaros gold quest

Cesaro not getting the right push has been discussed a million times now. However, on the bright side, he is not getting booked like Damien Sandow or Zack Ryder.

After making it big in WrestleMania, Cesaro might’ve not achieved much but he has been there in the fold of every good match that WWE has presented us. He was in the WWE title picture for some time and ensured he made the lights of Cena, Orton and Reigns work for their money.

With Lesnar’s return, Cesaro was relegated back into the midcard where he served the purpose of putting over the champions.

He got a shot at the United States champion at NOC and now has Dolph Ziggler on his radar. With the two being such brilliant performers in between the ropes, the buildup would be must watch.

#3 Friction between Cena and Ambrose

In the absence of Daniel Bryan, Ambrose has rose as the top baby face in the company. In contrast, Cena is someone who served the position for almost a decade before living up to the Dark Knight Quote, “You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain”.

And at this point of the year, both superstars have a common enemy, Seth Rollins. Ambrose wants to make Rollins pay for his betrayal while Cena wants to make sure that Rollins doesn’t cost him another title.

However, the question that arises is: who gets his hands on Rollins? The recent Raw showed that Ambrose and Cena don’t trust eachother completely which is the friction that could soon turn into a fire.

There are also rumors of the two facing eachother at HIAC which makes the affair between the Lunatic Fringe and Cenation leader more interesting.

#2 Too much ambition from Rollins

Just to make matter simple, winning the money in the bank is supposed to transform regular superstars into an opportunist who should wait for the correct time to cash in his contract. But when Brock Lesnar is the champion, the laws tend to change.

This is a fact that Rollins didn’t understand when he walked out into the ring at NOC with intentions of beating Lesnar for the title.

Even after getting pounded by Cena, and curb stomped by Rollins, Lesnar still seemed like he wasn’t ready to give up the title yet. It was clearly too ambitious attempt from Rollins and this might earn him some enemies apart from the ones he already has.

The Authority wouldn’t be happy about Rollins doing something like that while Lesnar would just be looking to get his hands on the man who curb stomped him. His ambitions are going to backfire on Rollins and that would be a plot worth following.

#1 The part-time problem

Everyone was well aware of the fact that Lesnar wouldn’t be available every week in and week out even if he was the champion.

It seemed passive at first since WWE addressed the issue with some good usage of pre-taped segments and Paul Heyman but the road to Hell in a Cell might say a different story.

The reason why Lesnar was interesting heading into NOC was because of the beating he gave to Cena. Everyone wanted to see how the rematch would unfold and didn’t care about how the company got there.

This curiosity will no longer come to WWE’s help this time after they botched up the NOC main event. This might not be a kayfabe storyline but it is a real life scenario that will be addressed big time in the coming weeks.
