WWE Hell in a Cell 2014: Predictions and possible opponents for every champion

Night of Champions was supposed to be a pay-per-view, dedicated for all the superstars who held their gold titles close. All five championships in the promotion were up for grabs on the show and from the five champions; only two came out with the title intact.Brock Lesnar and Sheamus were the fortunate ones while Usos, Paige and Dolph Ziggler fell on the other side of the coin. With another pay-per-view being brewed up by the WWE, almost all these titles would be back in the spotlight once again at Hell in a Cell. And after witnessing a lot of changes in such a short span of time, anything could happen on October 26th and here is a look how the champions could be lined up at the pay-per-view

#5 Divas Championship drops

It is a really sticky situation with the divas title. AJ Lee and Paige have been flip flopping the title for quite some time now and it has served the purpose of keeping the feud fresh and alive.

The storyline between the two is apparently far from being over as there is still something more that these two can give. However, from a wider angle, both divas have much more potential feuds to look forward to.

AJ could lock horns with Stephanie while Paige can welcome Charlotte into the main roster since the two had some good matches in NXT. For this to happen, AJ must drop the title and embark on a much bigger journey than the one she is having at this point.

Possible opponent: Paige

#4 Tag team championship Retains

WWE took a lot of time to test out the ‘stardust’ experiment and when they found out that it was good, the Dust Brothers ended up getting the championship from Usos.

Since the newly decorated team looks creepy and promising at the same time due to their title reign, they are likely to be champions till something better pokes up.

The Usos still have their rematch clause intact for the title which might be taken out at the pay-per-view. There aren’t many other teams left for challenging the Dust Brothers as an equally creepy Wyatt family is nowhere to be seen.

Ascension is busy putting over Kenta and Prince Devitt in NXT making their promotion a bit delayed as well.

Possible opponents: The Usos

#3 United States Championship Retains

Sheamus was among the two fortunate champions to defend his title successfully at NOC with the other being Brock Lesnar.

The chances of Sheamus getting a spot in the HIAC match card are unlikely since he has no credible opponent at this point. Cesaro is apparently busy with Ziggler at this moment while Miz going up against Sheamus would be chaotic.

There are names like Bo Dallas and Jack Swagger remaining in the mid card but the favorite has to be Rusev. The Bulgarian Brute would be a great opponent for the Celtic Warrior and it would make sense if an anti-American went to capture a title related to the gimmick.

All the other cases apart from Rusev is a sure win for Sheamus which makes him most likely to walk out of HIAC as champion if he defends.

Possible Opponent: Rusev

#2 Intercontinental Championship drops

The prestigious championship has been used ridiculously by the WWE over the past month as it changed hands with a sky high frequency.

Now it has come settling down in the hands of Dolph Ziggler while the former champion, Miz has been taken out of the scenario. WWE conducted a Battle royal to determine who the next No.1 contender would be and Cesaro got the pick.

The match between Cesaro and Ziggler is sure to bring down the roof. With Cesaro failing to capture the US title, he is more likely to succeed here.

Ziggler is not protected much as Sheamus and this works in favor of the Swiss Superman to get another title reign under his belt.

Possible opponent: Cesaro

#1 WWE Championship Retains

Lesnar’s status for the Hell in a Cell PPV is still pretty much up in the air. There is a certain section that suggest he will skip the pay-per-view while the others suggest that he would wrestle his once in a month match. WWE is yet to acknowledge the situation but the fans will be hoping to see their champion in between the ropes.

If Lesnar is not wrestling this means that he will keep the title, and if he is wrestling, then the question arises on who his opponent would be. Cena is an obvious choice after what happened at NOC but the wild horse here are Rollins and Orton.

Both men aligned with the Authority would make compelling opponent for the Beast. However, the title is not going anywhere at the moment since Lesnar is more bankable than anyone on the current roster.

Possible opponent: Randy Orton
