WWE Monday Night Raw : 15 September, 2014 - Superstar Ratings

There weren’t many complaints about last week’s Raw as it seemed credible to the core with the exception of one or two segment, this wasn’t the case with the September 15th edition of the company’s weekly flagship show. From giving away a pay-per-view match on free television to letting Mark Henry and Rusev headline the show, the creative completely screwed up the three hours that they had in their hands to make Night of Champions look like a big show.Everything apart from the Lesnar- Cena rematch got no buildup whatsoever which is sure to backfire on the company when Sunday arrives. There were no moments worth mentioning about the night, so here is a straight plunge into the Superstar Ratings.

#15 Naomi 5

The match between Naomi and Cameron was the latest hint to WWE that they should quit mixing up the Total Divas and WWE programming. The match carried no heat whatsoever and the fans had nothing more than yawning to do. Naomi gets a win that the deserves but the match was stale to say the least.

#14 Bella Twins 5

The creative’s efforts of reviving Bellas feud with some AJ and Paige in it continued this week. Nikki made a statement by laying out her sister while Brie was booked weakly. Fans didn’t seem to be interested in the angle meaning that the company should find better ideas to help the twins.

#13 R Truth 5.5

It’s finally a win for the veteran in Raw and needed Ziggler by his side to achieve the same. Being the stunt double of Miz worked wonders for Damien Sandow and WWE seems to be heading the same path with R-Truth which is actually good than simply wasting him.

#12 AJ Lee 6

AJ didn’t get much time to wrestle this week and the result of the match didn’t go her way as well. The post-match scenario was where AJ showed what she could do. Her mind games with Paige are what makes the championship match interesting while Bellas seems to be a waste of time.

#11 Jack Swagger 6

WWE could’ve easily booked a match between Swagger and Bo at NOC but they chose to go with Raw. Despite the storyline being there, the weeks of buildup seemed wasted due to the in ring action. However, WWE should provide the duo with some more time to work out something meaningful.

#10 Mark Henry 6

Many are still scratching their head wondering why the writers let Henry close the show. His mic work was nowhere near main event quality and if it wasn’t for Lana, the whole segment would’ve just flopped cent percent. Henry closed the show with his head high however which puts him in a good position for the match at Sunday.

#9 Sheamus 6.5

The United States Champion was on the winning side this Monday even though he got neutralized by Cesaro. WWE failed to expose the friction that Cesaro and Sheamus has and sacrificing Cesaro didn’t do any good for the feud as the challenger looks less threatening now.

#8 Dolph Ziggler 6.5

Ziggler’s title run is finally coming to life as he continued picking up wins. Getting another one over the No.1 contender surely piles up the odds in Ziggler’s favor and the Showoff now needs to dodge a potential botch booking from the writers at NOC.

#7 Paige 6.5

The motivation behind the tag team match at Raw was to let the fans know that the Bellas now belongs to the Championship scene. This however didn’t happen as Paige and AJ was too charismatic to let anyone of the Bellas steal the show. Another win further builds the momentum of Paige which she will need at NOC.

#6 The Usos 6.5

Usos was involved in another typical six man tag team match on Raw and came out with a win. They will take the result positively heading into Night of Champions but it there was nothing special about the match and it didn’t make Sunday’s match more compelling.

#5 Chris Jericho 7

Jericho’s feud with Randy Orton forced him to cross paths with the Big Red monster this week. The win boosts Jericho’s preparations for the big match on Sunday which will also be his last one in the current spell which everyone including him would love to forget soon.

#4 Brock Lesnar 7

Rumors of Vince McMahon backing Cena blindly might be true after he came out strong against the Beast. This wasn’t the ideal booking for Lesnar despite him getting a German suplex in there. Some momentum is surely lost as far as Lesnar is concerned and he will have to reestablish his dominance once again on Sunday.

#3 Seth Rollins 7

Rollins lost out to Reigns but no one can take away the effort that he put into the match. It was a hard-hitting match and Rollins didn’t mind taking the blows. However, after this, anything less at Night of Champions would be treated as a failure by the WWE fans which increases the pressure.

#2 John Cena 7.5

The edgier Cena that we saw after SummerSlam went missing thanks to the goofy segment involving Heyman and the Great Khali. However, Lesnar’s presence helped the Cenation leader to cover up some lost ground. He looks ready heading into NOC but what the fans want to see is Cena take a trip into the dark side.

#1 Roman Reigns 7.5

WWE Universe might still be wondering why they got to see the Reigns- Rollins match at Raw when it was built up as a big program for NOC. Reigns got his win nevertheless before the showdown on Sunday and will be looking to replicate the result under pay-per-view spotlight.
