WWE Monday Night Raw: 8 September, 2014 - Superstar Ratings

This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw started and ended inside a steel cage while everything in the middle told one story or the other.Cries of Vince Russo and WWE Universe seems to have hit the right place as the company recovered from their forgettable outing on last Monday to deliver a solid show at the Baltimore Arena. Brock Lesnar’s absence was still something that WWE couldn’t hide while Cena and Heyman gave a segment worth watching.NXT superstars got a surprise slot in the match card and Adrian Neville made complete utilization of the opportunity.Even Damien Sandow got some intelligent booking in the night whose only glitch was Lana’s segment where she insulted the American flag. With all said, here is a look at the Superstar Ratings for this week.

#15 Paige 5.5

The Divas champion was at her crazy best once again when it came to the action in between the ropes. However, the storyline moved nowhere as It was the regular kisses and weird movements from both divas. The writers also failed to let Nikki involve in the mix which was disappointing to say the least.

#14 Adam Rose and his Bunny 6.5

It’s funny how Adam Rose is booked by the company considering how polished he is in between the ropes. He might’ve picked up the win against Titus O’Neil but it was his bunny that stole the show. WWE should be thinking about giving a feud between Slater and whoever is inside the costume as it will be a good time killer.

#13 AJ Lee 5.5

Signs of the dream scenario between AJ and Stephanie weren’t there to be seen but AJ had a strong outing in the tag team match. She was kept away from the action for most of the time but once she got the chance to enter the ring, AJ finished the job fast signaling that she means business under all that sugar coating.

#12 Bella Twins 5.5

The reason why the Bellas don’t get separate ratings is because they didn’t do anything this week that deserved it. Jerry Springer in the middle of the ring was a bit entertaining to be frank but apart from that, the segment lacked direction as the fans were confused about who they should cheer for and who they should jeer for.

#11 Rhodes Brothers 6

It was another showing of the heel brilliance by Rhodes Brothers as they took out the Los Matadores. However, the post-match action was what stole the show and has managed to build some foundation for the match that the two teams would have at Night of Champions for the Tag team title.

#10 Sheamus 6

Sheamus squared off against Mr. Money in the bank this week with the eyes of Cesaro gazing around ring side. It was Cesaro who decided the match in the end as the No.1 contender proved to be a costly distraction for the champion. Sheamus wouldn’t be happy about the post-match beat down as well and will be eager to get his hands on Cesaro.

#9 Cesaro 6.5

The Swiss Superman got one of the strongest bookings in recent times when he laid out Sheamus. Cesaro was looking good both outside and inside the ring and managed to stamp himself as a worthy contender for the championship. The match between the two is sure to be excellent and the narrative is proving to be an extra add on.

#8 Sami Zayn 6.5

Zayn is one of those superstars that are too good to spent time in the NXT. The company might be giving him time to transition from the El Generico character as there is no other explanation for him not being in the main roster. A win in Raw will be good start for the Zayn but he got a bit overshadowed by Neville.

#7 Chris Jericho 7

The steel cage encounter that Jericho had this week with Bray was arguably the best match during his current spell in the WWE. Jericho managed to shine even though he lost the match and the attack that he suffered from Orton opened up new prospects for the Human Highlight reel who has dates left till Night of Champions.

#6 Roman Reigns 7

Reigns was sure to be outnumbered this week as Orton had the complete backing of Authority. Hunter made sure that his priced Viper was safe by letting Rollins and Kane be at the ring side even if it was a steel cage match. Reigns now has a lot more reasons to fight whoever he will be booked against at NOC after this attack.

#5 Adrian Neville 7

The creative deciding to give the NXT superstars a slot in the main roster was an intelligent move. Out of the four wrestlers who were involved in the match, it was the NXT champion that stole the show. His energy and fast paced action was a treat to the fans and Neville should’ve gained a fan base with that performance.

#4 John Cena 7

Cena was a bit confusing during the segment with Heyman. At one point he said how he is the role model for every fan and later he was seen threatening a helpless Heyman. Apart from these, his words were full of emotions and delivered the message clearly to Lesnar who will be forced to make an appearance next week for the sake of his advocate.

#3 Seth Rollins 7.5

WWE fans might be scratching their heads on how the creative is booking Rollins after Ambrose went missing. He is in the main event picture but he seemed like a typical heel who was struggling against Sheamus. It was a good week nevertheless for Mr. Money in the bank who is yet to get a date for Night of Champions.

#2 Randy Orton 8

Orton was at his in ring best once again when he showed the path for a youngster like Reigns. The viciousness of the viper was back there to be seen as he took out Jericho before the main event. This might be WWE hinting at a match between the two in near future as Orton seems pretty much done with Reigns.

#1 Bray Wyatt 8

It’s been only a day since it was pointed out that WWE is ruining the Wyatt family. Well, if Bray is going to get the booking he got this week; those words will have to be taken back. Bray got a big win this week and was at his destructive best. The next move that Bray takes would break or make his character after this strong showing.
