WWE Monday Night Raw preview: 1 February, 2016

A possible match?

He has a score to settleMondays are a drag. They are probably the most hated day of the week, but for wrestling fans, it’s an entirely different story. For them, Monday means a new episode of Raw. Although WWE is far away from its glory days, the wrestling fans still drool when a new edition of Raw comes around. This week, WWE will be trying to carry the momentum that they produced at the Royal Rumble.A blockbuster announcement at the end of last week’s show adds more excitement to this week’s outing. If that was not enough, there is a huge appearance set to happen at the show. Here is a detailed look at the possible segments that WWE might provide at Monday Night Raw:

#6 Crack in the brotherhood

A possible match?

WWE announced a huge triple threat match for FastLane last week. Brock Lesnar, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns will fight it out for a chance to headline WrestleMania. While this forms the main plot of the story, the friendship of Reigns and Ambrose is a subplot. Their brotherhood has survived some big storms over the past couple of years, but this time around it could come crashing down.

This week on Raw, we might get to see Reigns going head to head with Ambrose. Even if we don’t get to see a heel turn from someone, the Authority is bound to put these two in some sort of match to create some friction ahead of FastLane.

#5 The new challenger for Kalisto

What next after Jericho?

Kalisto pulled off yet another shocker at Royal Rumble when he defeated Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio was expected to come back and extend his feud with Kalisto but now that he is injured, WWE needs to find a new challenger for Kalisto. At the same time, there is AJ Styles who made a great impression through his match with Chris Jericho.

The Jericho vs. AJ styles feud has the capability of running on its own, but if WWE decides to incorporate it with the United States Championship, everyone will benefit. When the dust settles, AJ could have his first title in WWE as well. Otherwise, WWE could book Kalisto in a boring singles feud.

#4 Three way battle

The anti-heroine

The excitement surrounding the Divas division jumped to another level when Sasha Banks was introduced into the Divas title scene at Royal Rumble. After spending some awful time with her BAD buddies, Sasha is finally under the spotlight and WWE fans embraced this moment. She is an anti-Diva, something the fans love.

Becky Lynch and Charlotte in the mix makes matters more exciting. This is probably the real Divas revolution and the spotlight should be on these three. They have the calibre to deliver and unless WWE screws up, this three-way battle between Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch is going to be in the history books.

#3 The new alliance

The tag team division of WWE is entertaining because of two reasons, New Day and New Day. The champions have been a treat to watch and with every step, they’ve shown huge improvements. Last week, WWE teased a tag team which could be equally entertaining as the New Day when they had a segment between R-Truth and Goldust.

Both superstars are veterans and they know how to handle a crowd. From the looks of it, we are bound to see more segments from Truth and Goldust this week and hopefully, we would see them in the ring as well. If pulled off well, this could work wonders in the tag division.

#2 War of Authority

The war never ends

The never ending war between the Authority and Roman Reigns is going to take yet another step at Raw. Last week, the Authority went out of character by booking a triple threat for FastLane. Now imagine, if they wanted to keep the championship on Triple H, they wouldn’t have booked three of the best threats in a match without proper trials.

A golden opportunity to throw obstacles at Reigns and Ambrose was wasted last week. It is in the past and WWE should now think about working with what they have. Reigns and Ambrose will feel the heat from the McMahon family and with heels running out due to injury, it would be interesting to see what Vince McMahon comes up with.

#1 The Beast is here

Kill the buzzards

Brock Lesnar is currently WWE’s biggest draw. With John Cena injured and Undertaker out of action, most of WWE’s promotions for WrestleMania are likely to center around the Beast. This means that we will get to see more appearances. One of these appearances will happen at this week’s Monday Night Raw.

Lesnar was announced as one of the participants for the triple threat at Fast Lane but more importantly, he is going to be on Raw for the first time after what happened at Royal Rumble. Lesnar is likely to go after the Wyatt Family and we could get to see a full blown war at two fronts from the Beast.
