WWE Monday Night Raw Preview : 2 March, 2015

Just four weeks away from WrestleMania 31, Vince McMahon and his circus will hit the Prudential Center, Newark to bring the latest edition of their weekly flagship show, Monday Night Raw.Though the creative team had a lot of room to screw up the weekly show on a regular basis till now, doing the same on the road to WrestleMania would be met with some disastrous results.Keeping this in mind, WWE will be looking to hype their bigger pay-per-view of the year and cover up for everything they did so far. There is a lot of construction work to be done on the show and here is a look at what all the WWE Universe could expect from Monday Night.

#5 Give Divas a chance

The give divas a chance hashtag that trended in social media has left the WWE authorities furious. AJ Lee showed the guts to stand up for what she thought was right and the WWE Universe wasted no time in supporting her.

Stephanie and Vince McMahon nodded in agreement with the movement and if they were sincere about the whole thing, then we are bound to see a long divas match on this week’s Raw.

From the current divas division, Paige, Emma and Natalya are the only superstars who could deliver such a class act and it is the path WWE should travel through. Why? Because we don’t want to see Nikki or Brie Bella in a twenty minute match and say Divas got a chance.

#4 A potentially lame celebrity appearance

Seth Rollins appearing on the Daily Show last week was subjected to a lot of mainstream attention last week and from the looks of it, the segment on the Comedy Central series was only the beginning.

Rollins asked the Emmy Award-winning host Jon Stewart to appear on Raw during the segment and if everything sets up well for WWE, we might actually witness another lame celebrity appearance on Monday Night Raw.

The appearance from Stewart would be good for WWE to get some mainstream press before WrestleMania but as far as the loyal wrestling fans are concerned, they will be least bothered about some random guy from television getting curb stomped by Rollins.

#3 The Intercontinental Championship scramble

So all of a sudden, someone in WWE came up with the idea of morphing the Intercontinental title into the hardcore title. No, there is no 24/7 rule and ten title changes in one night but there is this angle where superstars steal away the gold from Bad News Barrett, which pretty much is the same thing.

Till now, we’ve seen Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan and R – Truth (Really?) get their hands on the Intercontinental title and all these could lead up the confirmed ladder match at Mania.

But will these five be the only men involved? Ladder matches usually go live with even number of superstars and if that is the case, WWE should make it clear who the last man or the last three men would be.

#2 Short term memory loss of creative team

Randy Orton made a much anticipated return to Raw last week. The fans were expecting him to tear apart the Authority since it was them that took him out of action before Survivor Series. But the thing is, the WWE creative team suffers from short term memory loss.

They completely forgot the friction that Orton had with Hunter and Stephanie before the hiatus and simply put him back with the Authority like nothing happened.

Thankfully there is some spark between Orton and Rollins and at least they didn’t forget that. The fire of Orton’s face turn is nowhere to be seen now and if they want to make Orton look good for WrestleMania, then some miracle should happen on Raw.

#1 Will the real Brock Lesnar please show up?

The problems with booking an unpopular match for WrestleMania main event are many. The creative team needs to put in a truck load of extra effort to convince the fans. Forget the truck load, we are not even getting a handful of effort when it comes to the Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns match at WrestleMania 31.

Last week on Raw, despite Lesnar being available backstage, the company decided to keep his date intact and sent out Paul Heyman to hype the match. Now, Heyman knows to sell and he did sell but we still didn’t get to see the much-needed face-off between the two superstars.

Lesnar’s appearance is something that the company should materialize soon and if they don’t, the entire WrestleMania gig is going to be messed up.
