WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: 21 April, 2014

Its going to be Monday again and the WWE will be throwing up their flagship show to make sure that the buy rates of Extreme Rules doesnt drop down the embarrassment bar.So far, the writers have been brewing up the storylines in an impressive manner but as we all know, one show could make or break the whole buildup. We will probably see some more additions to the already exciting match card. With the stars coming fresh off their tour in Saudi Arabia, it sure promises to be a star packed show with lot of development throughout the roster. So here is a look at the things we are bound to see when WWE brings Monday Night Raw from Baltimore Arena.

#5 The Possibility of Sting

Ever since Sting got off from TNA, there have been rumors of him signing a deal with WWE. And though nothing has been confirmed, there were plenty of signs that he is indeed a part of the family now.

If he wasn’t signed with WWE, he couldn’t have made it to their network to comment about the Ultimate Warrior since WWE isn’t that keen on anyone other than people they have under a contract. And following up, WWE is also planning to release a DVD on Sting soon.

With these two almost making it clear that Sting is under a contract, the question now will be when he should make his first appearance.

Will the WWE wait till they release the DVD and get him hot, or will they give the fans in Baltimore a sweet surprise. It is a possibility that can’t be ruled out.

#4 The New Real American

The Real Americans breaking up and Cesaro getting a big push as something all the fans wanted. But what they didn’t realize was how Jack Swagger would end up after the whole thing.

He has been on a downward spiral after the break up and being knocked out of the Intercontinental title tournament was apparently the final nail. But Zeb Colter has been hell bound to get Swagger some relevance and he said that he is looking for a replacement for Cesaro.

The exciting part about this is that, we could be treated with a new heel team in the division which is looking stale now. Along with that, working under Zeb Colter as part of a tag team is going to make some star relevant again.

It could be one of the mid carders who have been ill used or it could be a star from the NXT, whoever it might be the new Real Americans team will be worth watching out for.

#3 The Beard is back

After winning the title at WrestleMania in a hard-fought match, Daniel Bryan was on top of the world when he came out the next night. WWE used him well to give Shield a big push but last week Bryan had to put hold to the momentum he had.

Bryan was off his busy schedule to enjoy his honeymoon with Brie Bella. However, this didn’t hold WWE from forwarding his storyline as Kane dropped his corporate gimmick to take up the mask.

The Big Red Monster also promised that he will take out Bryan when he returns which opens up exciting prospects. A masked Kane is clearly a big threat to the flying goat and he won’t be having a great time if the Authority decides to get in the mix as well.

A match between Kane and Bryan at Extreme Rules may well ended up being made on Raw to take the holiday mood off Bryan’s head.

#2 The Tournament

The tournament which kicked off last week to determine the number one contender for Intercontinental title was simply some great booking. Continuous storytelling was something which the intercontinental title was missing and the tournament served the purpose well.

Cesaro, Rob Van Dam, Sheamus and Bad News Barrett are still in the run and from that everyone except Sheamus has a high amount of momentum.

Cesaro is getting the push of his life when he will be facing a freshly returned Van Dam while Bad News Barrett is almost sure to get a win against Sheamus.

A final match between Barrett and Cesaro could be better than the actual championship match since both wrestlers have a plethora of talent to give the fans. Big E will be having a sleepless night on Monday as he will figure out who his opponent could be.

#1 The War Begins

Evolution reuniting was arguably the biggest new that came out of last week’s edition. The pack was ruthless in taking out the Hounds of justice and made everyone realize that they still got it.

They also have a match set up at Extreme Rules but the beat down that we witnessed last week was just the beginning of the war.

Obviously the Evolution- Shield feud has all the potential to be a very lengthy money make for the company and the chances of them ending it with just one match are slim. To spice things up, the writers could bring back Ric Flair or even add in a new member from NXT which could simply make his career.

Shield on the other hand will be looking to settle the scores and won’t be silent when they do so. Triple H would need eyes behind his head if he is to avoid getting torn apart by the Hounds.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
