WWE Monday Night Raw Preview : 26 January, 2015

WWE managed to continue their horrible run of pay-per-views thanks to the screw up at Royal Rumble. The fans went into Philadelphia expecting a fairytale run by the flying goat but went out asking for refunds after Roman Reigns did the unthinkable. The road to WrestleMania looks set to be a miserable run for the WWE and it will officially be set in motion with this week’s Monday night Raw. After what went down on Sunday, Vince McMahon will be feeling the wrath of the WWE Universe and there aren’t many things he could do about it.However, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered in the weekly flagship show, and here is a look at the possible menu that WWE will serve in a matter of hours.

#5 Bubba here to stay?

There were a handful of surprise entrants in the Royal Rumble but the most notable one was Bubba Ray Dudley. Dudley returned to WWE after a gap of almost ten years and has left the fans scratching their heads.

Many are wondering whether this will be a one night appearance or a long run from Dudley and if it is the latter, then WWE will have a veteran in their arsenal heading into WrestleMania.

During his stay in TNA, Bubba managed to build himself as a main event heel and since his tag team partner, D-Von was nowhere to be found, Bubba is likely to have a singles runs if he is here to stay for some time.

#4 Next Legendary tag team please

The Ascension’s gimmick of abusing legendary tag teams finally picked up momentum at the Rumble when they defeated the New Age Outlaws. The Outlaws might be light years away from their prime but it was a win nevertheless for the former NXT Tag Champions.

With the initial momentum in place, what WWE needs to do now is give the team a proper push. Letting another legendary team feud with Ascension is the best available option and there are some options available.

The next opponent in Ascension’s hit list will be revealed on this week’s Raw and hopefully it won’t be some local athletes who don’t stand a chance.

#3 Sting goes missing, again

There were a lot of moments expected for the Rumble and one among that was Sting’s appearance. After haunting Triple H and his stooges last week on Raw, Sting pulled of another disappearing act at the Rumble.

WWE had a great chance of bringing Sting into the mix at the pay-per-view instead of Rock but that did not happen as well. Now that Rollins is probably out of Lesnar’s path, he might go and lock horns directly with the Icon.

At the other end, Triple H will have some score to settle with Rock after what he did at the Rumble. From the looks of it, we might be heading for a Rock vs. Triple H and Sting vs. Seth Rollins match and if that is the case, it will be cleared on Monday Night.

#2 Bryans next chapter

Bryan went into the Royal Rumble as the favorite and letting him win was the right decision as well. However, WWE eliminated Bryan from the match with one third of the entrants still yet to come.

It was the biggest disappointment of the night but that is not the major headache for WWE. What happened in the past cannot be erased now and the company should be more worried about how they book Bryan for the WrestleMania period.

Bray Wyatt is a good option since it was Bray who eliminated Bryan but then again, it is a feud that we saw last year. Letting Bryan enter the title scene like last year is another option but it would feel utterly repetitive.

#1 Batista 2.0

Batista embraced the wrath of entire WWE Universe when he won the Royal Rumble last year. Everyone wanted Daniel Bryan to win but due to WWE’s hobby of disappointing the fans, they went with the Animal.

The same is happening with Roman Reings. Though he was the favorite when the year started, the return of Bryan made Reigns look like a makeshift option. The fans will never forgive Reigns for snatching Bryan’s opportunity making it a similar situation like that of Batista.

When Reigns comes out on Raw, he will be treated like an unwanted baby face while the monstrous heel called Brock Lesnar will get all the cheers. It will be extremely awkward for the writers and they better not screw things up again on Monday.
