WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: December 22, 2014

Christmas is almost here and the WWE will be trying to give their fans an early present by delivering a top notch episode of Monday Night Raw from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 22.There might not be any confirmed matches for the show but it definitely has the potential to be one of the best in recent times thanks to the foundations that were laid around by the creative team in their last outing.A lot of questions are to be answered before the year comes to an end and a heavy load of those expectations are riding on the upcoming episode of Raw. So here is a look at some of the potential things that makes this week’s Raw a must watch show.

#5 New Paul Heyman guy?

Seth Rollins and John Cena inside a steel cage headlined last week’s Raw but what got everyone talking was Paul Heyman’s handshake with Rollins. After what Rollins did to Lesnar back in Night of Champions, everyone expected Mr. Money in the bank to get knocked out by the best but instead, we saw a handshake.

There is no explanation on why Lesnar didn’t attack Rollins and why Heyman shook hands with him and WWE pushing the idea of Rollins being a ‘Paul Heyman’ guy in their official site make matters more interesting.

If Rollins is indeed the new Heyman guy, this could open up some ground breaking storyline possibilities and The Architect might even end up being an established main eventer once it’s all over.

#4 Immovable object meets an unstoppable force

Running out of opponents to feed Rusev was always going to be a problem after the Bulgarian Brute dispatched Jack Swagger at TLC. WWE apparently solved the problem by introducing Ryback into the mix.

The big guy stood up to Rusev on last week’s Raw but was taken out on the SmackDown that followed. Knowing Ryback he will be returning with a hunger for revenge and Rusev will clearly feel the heat when the moment finally arrives.

From the pushes that these two have been getting in the past few months this will probably go down as the feud where an immovable object met with an unstoppable force. The next chapter will unfold on the latest episode of Raw and it surely won’t disappoint.

#3 Roman unstoppable reigns

Reigns’ return at TLC didn’t end up being as big as one would’ve expected. This might be because of him being on television even in the injury period, but the bottom line is: Reigns is back in between the ropes.

The Samoan Superman is probably heading straight into Royal Rumble to get a win but before that WWE will be looking to build him up for that. The dominant performance he had on SmackDown is only the start of things and we could expect more in the coming weeks.

Big Show seems to be the most likely jobber for Reigns before Rumble and the only question now about the amount of dominance that WWE is going let him perform.

#2 Curious case of Ortons delayed return

From the word that is going around the block, Randy Orton was supposed to make his return at TLC but was later pulled off in favor of the Roma Reigns angle.

Now since Orton’s return didn’t happen at TLC, he is expected to come back in some episode of Raw. This is because WWE desperately needs Orton in the Rumble match card and for that to happen he must return at the earliest.

There are rumors suggesting his return at this week’s Raw and if that’s the case, this episode is going to make headlines all across the internet. Rollins is most likely to be on the receiving side when Orton returns, but Kane is also on the list according to the latest rumors.

#1 Cenas looking to settle the score

Cena came out winning against Rollins at TLC and kept his No.1 contender ship intact, but this also means a date with the Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble.

Lesnar made no time in showing Cena what he was in for as he destroyed the Cenation leader once again on last week’s Raw. Cena can always raise the case of that attack being unexpected and untimed, but he will be dying to settle the scores with Lesnar.

WWE needs Cena to look good ahead of the Rumble match as the last two times these two-faced, Lesnar came out winning. The external factor of Seth Rollins will also have a big say in the proceedings and hopefully WWE will not ruin the possible show-stealing angle.
