WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: January 12, 2015

WWE will bring the second Monday Night Raw of 2015 this week and the major difference from their last outing would be the shortage of three baby faces from the roster. The firing of Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and Ryback has caused a lot of confusion among the fans and this will indeed be the focus this year. Though this will be the focus, there are a lot of other storylines that the company needs to sort out before hitting the gas at Royal Rumble. The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, LA will be packed with highly expecting fans on Monday Night and here is a look at the possible things that WWE could serve in their weekly flagship show.

#5 Possible three way battle in Divas Division

The WWE divas division felt shallow after the injury of AJ Lee. Nikki Bella was left without a proper challenge, but WWE apparently solved the problem with Natalya.

She was getting regular wins against the Bellas and looked destined to get a shot at the Divas Championship until Paige came along. The former two time Divas Champion had an unexpected face turn and joined hands with Natalya to face the Bellas.

With both Paige and Natalya getting individual wins against the twin sisters, the company might well be building up a possible three-way battle for the divas title. If Brie decides to turn against her sister, again, then we might get a four way as well.

#4 A lot of mess to clean up

The Ascension gathered a lot of heat last week when they respected some of the most decorated tag teams in wrestling history. It was a great way to get some heel heat but then again, many had the opinion that these two went a bit far.

However, there are bigger headaches that Ascension needs to sort out. For the past couple of weeks, the team has been facing local wrestlers that are no match for them.

And to make matters worse, the commentators are burying the team. JBL had harsh criticism for the team throughout their match and if the company wants to make look Ascension good, they should start feeding them with credible opponents.

#3 Technicians in disguise

The Ascension is indeed messed up big time, but WWE seems to be making good strides when it comes to Tyson Kidd and Cesaro. The Duo seemed to be out of place when they initially came into the picture but as time went by, even without a proper push, they managed to steal the show.

The reason is pretty simple. Both Cesaro and Kidd are excellent in ring workers and that attribute contributed big time to the success story.

Last week they seem to have drawn the battle lines with New Day and it was probably one of the best moments of the week. They might continue the angle this week on Raw and WWE should think about giving these guys a better push.

#2 Cenas guilt

The whole John Cena appreciation drama that happened last week was to project Cena as a bad guy. No, not a heel, but a bad guy. He was held responsible for the firings that happened last week and even though it seemed like an utter failure, there is some potential in that storyline.

Cena will face off against Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble in two weeks’ time but instead of focusing on the match, he will be full of guilt about what happened to Ziggler, Ryback and Rowan.

An apology promo from Cena is almost guaranteed on this week’s Raw and he might even go to seek some revenge against Triple H for what he did.

#1 Future of the unemployed

As mentioned earlier, this would indeed be the focus of Raw. The company needs to answer all the questions that will be posed by fans on the show about what they are planning for Ziggler, Rowan and Ryback.

All three were the victims of Authority’s power trip and even if Triple H decides to drop in a three hour promo to start the show, we wouldn’t mind as long the storyline is pushed forward.

There is also a possibility of Sting being introduced into the mix as a rebel against the Authority while a return from Vince McMahon is also a great option. Either way, what we want is something new this week rather than the same old formulas.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
