WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: June 29, 2015

Lana

Revenge Mode: OnSitting through three hours of Monday Night Raw is going to get you a pain in the rear (PGfied word). But then again, for one reason or the other, despite all the complaints that we throw at WWE, we still come back to get a glimpse of what WWE has in store this week. The story of Mondays has been the same for ages. Fans come in with the desire to dig out mistakes and WWE present them with just that. Expect no more from this week unless some miracle happens. From the struggles of their reigning chicken champion to the tea cup feud between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt, here are some of the dishes that WWE might serve in the dinner table this week around.

#5 Romance is in the Air

Lana

WWE fans wanted a new gimmick for Adam Rose. Wish granted. They get an Adam Rose, who runs around and kisses Rosa Mendes. This is a great example of the quote ‘Be careful what you wish for’. There is nothing wrong with Rose kissing Rosa; at least the man is having fun and their names rhyme. But he had more potential in the Leo Kruger character.

Getting paired up with Ziggler is a good thing for Rose. As long as WWE gives both men some quality time to build a match, there won’t be many complaints. But the story is not about Ziggler or Rose; it is about Lana and Rusev. Will they reunite? That is the conflict of the story. Ziggler, Rose and Rosa are just supporting characters who will get buried once the story turns.

#4 Mission Impossible

Ryback

WWE’s mid-card is experiencing a “Mission Impossible” type of struggle. The Creative is desperate to make the Intercontinental championship relevant again but unfortunately for them, Ryback and Big Show simply do not ring a bell. I thought I’d never say this, but Miz is the best part of this storyline. He adds the extra spark of entertainment into the angle, which otherwise is stale and irrelevant.

Fans want to see Big Show retire and they are hesitant to back Ryback during the reign. It is a dangerous mixture and the only way in which WWE could settle the issue is at Battleground. Till then, they need to book something out of the world; else, the Intercontinental Championship segment will end up being the new toilet breaks. Speaking of out of the world, there is one feud in WWE that is almost out of the world.

#3 Out of the Country Feud

Kevin Owens

Tune into Raw this week because you might see Cena and Owens cut a promo in some Alien Language. The French and Chinese bits that WWE included last week could be easily forgiven considering the good work they have done throughout the feud. In fact, hearing something apart from English was actually fun in one sense.

But the real question is, what can WWE do differently this week. They’ve stomped on the US title, they’ve broke Cena’s back, they’ve power bombed Machine Gun Kelly. They have used up almost everything. This week will require something new and coming up with the same will not be any cake walk.

So what will be the company doing? It is this question that makes the battle between Cena and Owens exciting. No matter what WWE gives them, these performers will pull it off with perfection.

#2 Multiplying Bellas

Bella Twins and Alicia Fox

In case you did not notice, the Bellas multiplied last week. There were three of them including Alicia Fox. That is just what the world wanted, more Bellas. WWE’s intentions of making such a decision still remains a mystery. Paige was nowhere to be seen, so the Bellas did not have anything credible to fight against other than their usual struggles.

The Brit is expected to make her return this week and probably we’ll see a fight back from her. Three Divas is too much for Paige and she should find some backing at the earliest. If Paige does not show up, WWE would probably add one more Bella into the mix and make it four Bellas. Why? Four Bellas are more annoying that three Bellas, that’s why.

#1 Beast Strikes back?

Rollins getting the Upperhand

A big red monster, the guy who broke his nose in a ladder match and WWE’s chicken champion worked together to slay the beast last week on Raw while a former Ring of Honor Champion broke his rib. It was WWE’s show stopping angle last week. It took all those fire power to take Lesnar down, and instead of making Rollins look strong, the whole thing has made him weaker.

The current booking direction of projecting him as a coward is not doing any good for him or the people around him. The main conflict of the storyline here is about Seth Rollins trying to prove his worth to Triple H. It should have been about Lesnar, but it about Rollins now and, to be frank, it is not as interesting as it should be.

And how can WWE make things worse? Of course, they can book a tag team main event with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose on one side and Kane and Rollins on the other. Only if Lesnar comes out through the crowd and knocks everyone out. (Including the writers and Vince McMahon)
