WWE Night of Champions 2014: 3 possible endings for Randy Orton vs Chris Jericho

Just when the Night of Champions looked like a stage dedicated to SummerSlam rematches, the creative steered the pay-per-view out of danger by adding two fresh encounters. One of it was the match between Randy Orton and Chris Jericho which was something no one saw coming. Both superstars were involved in their respective feuds which seemed destined to unfold one more chapter at NOC.The steel cage match on Raw settled the feud between Bray and Jericho while Reigns’ pursuit of Rollins left Orton free. No stakes or stipulations were added to the match but it has surely managed to make the fans talking. This will also be Jericho’s last appearance in his current spell, so here is a look at the possible ways in which the match could end.

#3 Viper strikes lamely

One of the biggest complaints that the fans have about Orton is his alignment with the Authority. Being under Hunter has considerably made Orton’s character stale since he always took the easy way out of matches and feuds.

Kane has made a name for himself interfering in matches and turning their results upside down and when it came to matches involving Orton, it has been the same old story.

The big red monster getting involved at NOC is a big possibility as the creative seems to have no intention of projecting Orton as a threat to the baby faces.

Bray Wyatt is another possible superstar that can help out the viper but in both cases it would be a lame win for Orton. Clearly this will not be a popular ending among the WWE fans but knowing the creative, we could even expect worse things at the pay-per-view.

#2 Jericho goes out with his head high

Almost everyone in the WWE Universe is aware of the fact that Night of Champions would be Jericho’s final chapter during the current spell. He has a tour coming up with his band Fozzy which prevents him from spending more time in the business that made him a star.

Writing their superstars off the television is not something WWE is very fond of doing so they could make is simple this time around.

A clean win over Orton would be a fair send off to the Human highlight reel who is coming off a feud with Bray Wyatt which ended in a loss.

It will be a popular ending on short term however as WWE will have no use of putting Jericho over Orton. However, if they manage to incorporate an angle of Kane costing Orton the match, it can pave way for a face turn for the Viper in the near future as he can turn against the Authority.

#1 Legend killer is back

Over his career, Orton has undergone many character changes. However, one character that has always found a special place in the heart of WWE fans is his Legend Killer gimmick.

Orton was sick, manipulative, vicious and all the other superlatives that were needed for a typical heel in the business while he was walking around as the legend killer. Having a botched face run and then aligning with the Authority hurt Orton big time as he soon slipped into irrelevance.

The only way to bring back some credibility into the former champion would be to let him be that destructive force once again.

Now that Jericho is going to be out of television for a long time, the company could book Orton strongly. Jericho should be beaten up so badly that the referee would call for the bell and in process disqualifying Orton.

With this ending, the viper will be back to his best without the Authority while Jericho will have a reason to stay out of television.
