Home crowd advantage

A scene from BrooklynThis episode was straight out of Brooklyn. These were the matches that happened during the Takeover event but weren’t aired as part of that card. The matches made it to NXT this week instead of the usual tapings at Full Sail Arena. So not much happened on the show when it comes to the storyline development. We will have to wait until next week to see some storylines kicking in.But it was apt for NXT to air these matches on their usual television slot. It worked well as we’re still sinking in from the brilliance that was the latest Takeover. Here are the three points to note from this week’s show-

#1 The home turf

Home crowd advantage

The kind of ovation Enzo Amore and Big Cass got for their arrival was rabid. This was their home turf.

Imagine if they’d actually won the tag team championship. That would have brought the roof down. This team is the most over team at NXT. They get some of the biggest pops, night after night at Full Sail University.

The fans have learnt all their catchphrases word to word. That is such a difficult thing to do, but they’ve succeeded in making the cardinal rule of wrestling work- controlling the audience.

Their mere entrance to the arena and the reaction to it by the audience was a thing of beauty.

#2 A lesser botch?

Surprised!

Well, rumor doing the rounds is that Emma wasn’t supposed to win the fatal four-way divas match.

She was up against her teammate as of late, Dana Brooke and two- thirds of PCB Charlotte and Becky Lynch. This match lacked a proper story, but it was still met with great attention by the Brooklyn crowd. It’s NXT and they care about the divas here.

The match brought forth some interesting developments, especially the interaction between Emma and Dana Brooke. Emma worked really well, except she was surprised at her victory. Apparently, Charlotte was supposed to break the pin.

When Charlotte botched at Smackdown, she received a lot of flak, but Emma winning here may have stopped some of the flak for the alleged botch.

#3 All red brigade

Worst match at Brooklyn

Eva Marie’s debut may have been one of the most hyped cases of all time in NXT and she was better off the way she performed right at the beginning of her career.

At Brooklyn, she was really disappointing. The match didn’t deserve to be on the card, rather it was the worst match on the card. They’re hyping up her as a wrestler, but the truth is she isn’t that much of a big deal yet.

It’s really a question now, Who’s going to follow Bayley’s spot at NXT when she moves to the main roster?

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
