WWE Payback 2015: 5 Big Returns that could happen at the Pay-Per-View

The WWE roster is nearly at its full strength at the moment but there is still room for some big returns at Payback. Although, there were a lot of possibilities for the creative team to pull off at Extreme Rules, the WWE Universe did not get to see any solid comebacks. It could be an entirely different story in the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore on May 17. The reason for this is the lack of distance between Payback and SummerSlam. The company would not take the risk of leaving everything saved for Money in the Bank, which in turn makes Payback a crucial stop for everyone. So here is a look at the big possible returns that could happen at the pay-per-view.

#5 Paige

Paige has been kept away from the company for quite some time now and though they are playing up the injury angle, Paige is apparently fit to compete. The only reason for her absence would be to make Naomi look like a credible heel and since that is going perfectly; it is a good time for Paige to make her return.

A returning Paige would find no trouble getting back into the title picture as she is the only diva left in the division, who could fill AJ Lee’s void. Avenging Naomi for what she did should be the first priority for the Brit and she could then go on and chase Nikki afterwards.

#4 The Usos

While Paige was kept away on the grounds of a kayfabe injury, Usos are kept away due to a legitimate one. The WWE tag team division has been producing good matches lately without the presence of Usos but their addition is never a bad thing. The only thing holding back Usos from returning at Payback is the recovery time of Jey and if they manage to overcome this, then it will be a big boost to the division.

With New Day Reigning as the champions, returning Usos will be able to put over the trio more and could set up a clash for SummerSlam. WWE need not take away the title and put it on Usos all of a sudden as it would clearly bury New Day.

#3 Paul Heyman

Brock Lesnar’s return to the WWE is not going to happen till SummerSlam but that does not mean Paul Heyman should do the same. We are obviously going to see Lesnar come out and challenge Rollins for a match at SummerSlam after Money in the Bank but the sudden return and action reduces the impact of Heyman.

What WWE could do is, bring out Paul Heyman at Payback and tease the return of Lesnar even if Lesnar won’t be back till SummerSlam. With Rollins playing the role of a chicken champion, him getting scared at every appearance of Heyman would prove to be a great subplot amidst the championship angle with Orton and Reigns.

#2 Eva Marie

You might probably be asking yourself why Eva Marie is ranked so high in the list, well; it is because she is busting her rear, training with Brian Kendrick. She has had a lot of criticism over the course of her career but she might come out earning some respect soon. If a veteran like Kendrick has confidence in her, there should be something special.

Also, Vince McMahon is high on pushing Eva to the top, making it an ideal situation for her to make a return. The first match involving Eva would attract a lot of eyeballs since everyone will be eager to know how her training is turning out to be.

#1 Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan being out of action is unfortunate for him, the WWE and the fans. The Intercontinental championship was put on him so that it would be defended regularly but thanks to Bryan’s injury, the entire plan fell through.

Bryan is rumored to be returning in June but if he recovers before that, we might get to see him defend the title at Payback. Even if Bryan is not fit enough to wrestle, the company can bring him out and keep the Intercontinental championship relevant. Stripping Bryan off the championship should only be the worst case scenario as WWE should give Bryan enough time to properly clear out the situation.
