WWE Power Rankings : 22 November 2014

It’s that part of the week again where we dig into the Power rankings to see who made the climb and who suffered the drop over the week. Being the home coming week of Survivor Series, there were a lot of expectations riding on the past seven days, and let’s say that WWE did something and all.The pay-per-view is still a one match show from the looks of it as the company once again failed to build up the other matches properly. But that ‘one’ match has all the ammunition it needs to make Sunday a successful outing for the company. There were a lot of good segments over the week and then there were some forgettable ones, here is a look at how all those shaped up the pre-Survivor Series edition of the Survivor Series.

#25 Cesaro (Previous Rank 20)

Getting into the Survivor Series main event could’ve brought back Cesaro’s career into a credible path. However, the people at WWE didn’t have such a plan. The Swiss Superman suffered two big blows over the week against Ryback and Erick Rowan and the losses drag him to the edge of WWE’s power rankings.

#24 Adam Rose (Previous Rank 24)

It’s hard to see where Adam Rose is headed with the current storyline. He is clearly not going to be over as a face and the heel turn is not happening as well. Luck might be the only reason for Rose’s extended stay in the power rankings because the other factors are not working for him.

#23 Brie Bella (Previous Rank 22)

Despite being the personal assistant of Nikki, Brie did get a win over her sister on Raw while being dressed up as AJ Lee. She couldn’t replicate the same outing against AJ on SmackDown and that loss costs Brie on position in the Power Rankings ahead of Survivor Series.

#22 Damien Mizdow (Previous Rank 21)

The stunt double of Miz is getting incredibly over with the fans and Survivor Series could turn out to a career changer pay-per-view for Mizdow. He split a win and a loss over the week and the loss to be frank wasn’t his fault in the first place. But he loses ground on the rankings but a championship win on Sunday could change things.

#21 Los Matadores (Previous Rank Nil)

A couple of months back, the Los Matadores was laughing stock in the company and wasn’t anywhere near the championship scene. Things turned upside down fast and the bull fighters could now have a chance to carry the gold around as they get ready to challenge three other teams for the title at Survivor Series.

#20 Kane (Previous Rank 25)

Many might see Kane as the weak link in Team Authority but he did prove otherwise thanks to some dominating performance against Ryback and Big Show on SmackDown. Kane clearly is not going to be one of the last survivors but he sure will be a big factor once the match begins.

#19 Mark Henry (Previous Rank 18)

Henry didn’t have much to do this week other than walking around with the Authority. His heel turn has lost its sting and Henry is just another face who got overshadowed by the star power that was invested into the angle. Sunday is going to be crucial for the World’s strongest man as it could either break him or make him.

#18 Tyson Kidd (Previous Rank 19)

The impressive spell of Tyson Kidd continued this week when he got two wins over the week. WWE showing some faith in Kidd is encouraging but he still hasn’t got the push that he deserves for his talent. A good match at Survivor Series is what Kidd needs now and hopefully he would get it as well.

#17 The Miz (Previous Rank 17)

Miz made his intentions about Survivor Series clear throughout the week but failed to deliver the action that matched those words. He got pinned by Los Matadores in SmackDown and didn’t play a big role in the win that came on Raw as well. The split result however helps him keep his place in the rankings.

#16 Ryback (Previous Rank 16)

The big guy’s ultimate decision was a big talking point last week and when he joined Team Cena on Raw, the roof came off the place. There was also a great confrontation between him and Triple H which teased a possible singles feud between the two, which is something that’ll work wonders for Ryback.

#15 Big Show (Previous Rank 15)

Show was constantly on the receiving side of Team Authority’s wrath this week as he got beat up on Raw and SmackDown. This probably would only be the teaser of what awaits Show at SmackDown as he could end up being a punching bag at the pay-per-view .

#14 Paige (Previous Rank 14)

The former Divas Champion is currently miles away from another feud with AJ Lee but she did find a plce in the Survivor Series match card. Paige will now have the opportunity to lead her own team to victory at the pay-per-view but it’s not going to be easy considering who she is going up against.

#13 Nikki Bella (Previous Rank 13)

Nikki wanted to defame her Survivor Series opponent in various ways but everything backfired. The No.1 contender ended up losing a big chunk of momentum thanks to those and will have to go against the flow if she needs to get the gold once again on Sunday.

#12 Dust Brothers (Previous Rank 10)

The Dust Brothers would be having bullets from all direction on Sunday and going in with some momentum would’ve helped things a little bit. That didn’t happen however thanks to their loss on Raw and now the champions are in danger of seeing their gold slip to somewhere else.

#11 The Usos (Previous Rank 12)

Usos will be looking to get another championship reign under their belt on Sunday when they battle in the fatal four way match. The brothers also got a big momentum booster at Main Event when they defeated the Dust Brother making them the favorites to walk away from Survivor Series with the gold.

#10 Dolph Ziggler (Previous Rank 6)

Being part of Team Cena has its bad effects and Ziggler learned that lesson the hard way. He was destroyed big time on both Raw and SmackDown and the Showoff also dropped his intercontinental championship to Luke Harper which didn’t help matter either.

#9 Luke Harper (Previous Rank Nil)

The biggest moment of Harper’s career came down on Raw when he defeated Ziggler to become the new Intercontinental champion. Joining hands with Triple H is clearly helping Harper to cement his place in the main event scene. Survivor Series would present Harper with yet another opportunity to steal the show Harper would be making sure that he does his best.

#8 Bray Wyatt (Previous Rank 11)

The Eater of the Worlds had a lot of cryptic messages to his Survivor Series opponent as usual. Bray also picked up a good win over Jack Swagger at Main Event which helped him secure a place in the top ten. But what matters most would be his outing on Sunday where he will be looking to save Dean Ambrose.

#7 Randy Orton (Previous Rank 7)

Orton was nowhere to be seen this week as well but still is a dark horse who could ruin the Authority’s outing at Survivor Series. The Viper returning on Sunday will go down as a great boost for the entire pay-per-view and hopefully WWE would let that happen as well.

#6 AJ Lee (Previous Rank 8)

AJ was responsible for one of the funniest segments of the week. Her impersonation of Nikki Bella was a great moment and AJ also delivered the goods when she got the win over Brie. With that, the Divas champion edges one step nearer to the top five spot which she could get after Survivor Series.

#5 Rusev (Previous Rank 5)

The Bulgarian Brute might’ve joined the Authority but he still remains to be an individual force to reckon with. The United States championship ended up having two great wins this week apart from the usual destruction and that helps him to stay rooted to his previous ranking.

#4 Dean Ambrose (Previous Rank 4)

The Lunatic Fringe’s mind games with Bray Wyatt continued this week as he looked to get the better of his opponent. Ambrose clearly has a score to settle with Bray after what went down at Hell in a Cell and a win on Sunday would help Ambrose to crack the top three rankings as well.

#3 John Cena (Previous Rank 3)

John Cena’s luck almost ran out on Raw when he was left without a team until the last moment. However, the Cenation leader picked up his momentum in style and lined up a great team for Survivor Series. He will now be desperate to get a win on Sunday as an opposite result could spell disaster.

#2 Seth Rollins (Previous Rank 2)

Seth Rollins proved to be the ideal captain for Team Authority when he took down the members of Team Cena one by one. The Architect is heading into Survivor Series with a great amount of momentum and he would be looking to transform it into a win and help Triple H stay in power.

#1 Brock Lesnar (Previous Rank 1)

The guy who doesn’t know to use a calendar is rumored to be done with WWE and if that’s the case every effort that WWE put in to help project him as ‘the’ guy will go in vain. Before that Lesnar needs to drop the title to someone else and hopefully it would be a young talent rather than John Cena again.
