WWE Power Rankings: 25 October, 2014

There wouldn’t be a better time to consider the momentum of the WWE Superstars than just hours before a major pay-per-view.A big portion of the WWE Universe might not see Hell in a Cell as ‘major’ but it sure has a lot of importance as things stand now. Randy Orton is at the verge of a much expected face turn while the younger breed looks all set to take over and make history. The Power Rankings is a good indicator of how well the superstars have fared after the last pay-per-view but all that would be turned upside down once Sunday arrives. So as we prepare for a memorable outing at Hell in a Cell, here are the pre-PPV power rankings to see who heads in with the best momentum.

#25 Big E (Previous Rank Nil)

Big E failed to settle the scores with Rusev but showcased some great effort in the outing. Getting one over Bo Dallas in Main Event also helped the former Intercontinental champion who, despite any good storyline has jumped back into the Power Rankings.

#24 Damien Sandow (Previous Rank Nil)

The stunt double character is doing wonders for Damien Sandow who is getting some quality in ring time. He was on the winning side of both Raw and SmackDown which has earned him a place in the Power Rankings which was eluding him for a long time.

#23 Jack Swagger (Previous Rank 21)

Swagger’s incredible chemistry with Seth Rollins was put to use once again by the WWE creative when the two faced off at Main Went. It wasn’t particularly a memorable outing for the Real American but he did pick up against Bo Dallas on Superstars.

#22 Kane (Previous Rank 23)

The Authority’s favorite demon manages to improve his ranking after getting the upper hand of Cena and Ambrose on Raw. Kane might not be booked for a match at Hell in a Cell but he is sure to play a big role in deciding how the matches would end up.

#21 Tyson Kidd (Previous Rank 22)

Lady luck if finally smiling on Tyson Kidd, whose efforts in NXT has landed him in a main roster storyline even though he is confined to the B grade shows. Kidd picked up two wins this week against Kofi Kingston and R-Truth respectively and would be looking to add on that in the coming weeks.

#20 Bo Dallas (Previous Rank 19)

Bo had all the chances to push himself up in the rankings as he had three matches over the week. The clashes against Big E and Jack Swagger didn’t go that well for the inspirational superstars and this drags him down the rankings even though he secured a win at SmackDown.

#19 Mark Henry (Previous Rank 17)

The World’s largest athlete kept his word this week when he stayed away from the Rusev- Big Show angle. This however didn’t end up being good for Henry who picked up a loss on SmackDown and dropped down the rankings as a result.

#18 The Miz (Previous Rank 20)

Miz saw his stunt double steal the show once again this week but the spoils were shared at SmackDown. The win alongside Sandow on Friday night against the Los Matadores helps Miz climb one place and sets him well for the title clash against Sheamus.

#17 Brie Bella (Previous Rank 16)

Brie Bella would be looking to make Nikki her personal assistant at Hell in a Cell but the road to the pay-per-view saw a big blow when she ended up being in the losing side of a six –diva tag team match at SmackDown which drops her down the ranks.

#16 Nikki Bella (Previous Rank 18)

While Brie’s momentum took a big blow heading to Hell in a Cell, Nikki got some sweet revenge. She not only won the match in SmackDown, but also pinned her sister which could be replicated on Sunday where the sibling feud would reach its peak.

#15 Cesaro (Previous Rank 15)

The Swiss Superman was constantly locking horns against Dolph Ziggler this week and came out with a mixed result. However, in the end, Cesaro is the real winner since he now has a chance to become the Intercontinental champion on Sunday.

#14 Bray Wyatt (Previous Rank 14)

Bray Wyatt continued to deliver more cryptic messages this week even though there was no physical presence of the Wyatt Family. There are a lot of rumors floating about where Bray is heading next and only time would tell what WWE has in store for him.

#13 Big Show (Previous Rank 13)

The World’s largest athlete continued his feud with the Bulgarian Brute this week and explored emotional grounds on Raw. He came out with his head high on Monday where he rescued a US Marine and Show looks charged up to knock out Rusev on Sunday as well.

#12 Dust Brothers (Previous Rank 12)

The Tag team champions ended their embarrassing losing run and did it in style. They picked up two wins over the week with one coming in Raw and the other in SmackDown. After getting the momentum on their side, now the Brothers would be looking to come out as champions from HIAC.

#11 Paige (Previous Rank 11)

Paige didn’t get in between the ropes this week but her presence on the sides was enough to haunt AJ Lee. Making AJ lose her momentum on Raw would work in favor of Paige at Hell in a Cell where she would try to recapture her real ‘best friend’.

#10 Sheamus (Previous Rank 8)

Sheamus was pushed to the edge of top ten after forgettable outings this week. The Celtic warrior found it hard to manage Miz and his stunt double and this could also make it hard for the champion at Hell in a Cell where the United States title would be on the line.

#9 Rusev (Previous Rank 10)

Rusev showed the whole world that he is ruthlessly patriotic by knocking out a US Marine. The Bulgarian Brute heads into Hell in a Cell with a perfect record of not being pinned and would be looking to extend the streak against Big Show as well.

#8 AJ Lee (Previous Rank 9)

The Divas Champion had a tough outing on Raw against Alicia Fox thanks to some well-timed interference from Paige. AJ picked up the much needed win however on SmackDown against Alicia which helps her climb one place in the rankings.

#7 The Usos (Previous Rank 7)

The former champions were carrying a lot of momentum after Night of Champions but all that came crashing down this week. The dust brothers took all the limelight this time around leaving Usos in the background just before their title match at Hell in a Cell.

#6 Dolph Ziggler (Previous Rank 6)

After some high profile losses over the past couple of weeks, Ziggler finally got some credibility back into his character when he got a win against Cesaro on SmackDown. He would be desperate to pull of the same result at HIAC as well where it would be a two out of three falls match.

#5 John Cena (Previous Rank 4)

The Cenation leader played the supporting character again amidst the chaos on Raw. He didn’t have much of a say in the match where the youngsters shine and as a result the 15- time WWE champion drops down one place into fifth in the rankings.

#4 Randy Orton (Previous Rank 5)

With Orton’s RKO turning out to be an internet sensation last week, many expected the viper to go on rampage this week. It was something similar but getting leveled by Rollins came out of nowhere. Orton’s character has all of a sudden become interesting now heading into HIAC.

#3 Seth Rollins (Previous Rank 2)

It wasn’t a bad week for Mr. Money in the bank as he was standing tall on top of the Cell on Raw. As he prepares himself to face Ambrose on Sunday, Rollins has rattled the viper with a curb stomp which opens up a plethora of new opportunities for the creative team.

#2 Dean Ambrose (Previous Rank 3)

All the rumors surrounding, Ambrose being the top face of WWE might be coming true as he is only second to the WWE champion on Power Rankings. He got a taste of the Hell in a Cell on Raw and will surely tear down the roof when he gets the chance on Sunday.

#1 Brock Lesnar (Previous Rank 1)

The WWE champion’s absence still raises a big question mark among the WWE Universe but Paul Heyman delivered an honest effort to make the feeling less. Heyman drew friction from both Cena and Orton, who are the main contenders for Lesnar according to WWE.
