WWE Power Rankings: December 13, 2014

If a question ever arises about what the biggest take away of the week was, the obvious answer would be: NXT Revolution. The so called developmental territory of WWE excelled almost every main roster pay-per-view that WWE produced this year as it was plenty in action and story.Fans were calling out for the retirement of Vince McMahon after the show knowing that it was Triple H who has control over NXT. It will be a contrast of the two men’s booking ability on Sunday when the company brings out TLC.The entire WWE Universe will be measuring TLC with what they saw at Revolution and it ain’t going to be an easy task for Vince to overpower what Hunter did at TLC. Before he head into the pay-per-view spirits here is a look at the pre- TLC Power Rankings.

#25 Natalya (Previous Rank Nil)

Natalya got a big win on Monday Night Raw against NXT women’s champion Charlotte but we all know that is wasn’t a win to be proud of. No one would’ve wanted to bury Charlotte like that after realizing how talented she is. That win however helps Natalya to get back into the Power Rankings.

#24 Naomi (Previous Rank 23)

Naomi took a break from the in ring action this year but that didn’t hold her back from being a major character in the tag title storyline. The Usos against Miz and Mizdow feud will be steered ahead by what Naomi does at TLC and it could even give rise to a sibling feud between Usos.

#23 Brie Bella (Previous Rank 24)

Brie had nothing more than smiling this week as she was restricted to the ring side while Nikki stole the show. Despite the in ring inaction, Brie claimed the couple of the year Slammy award alongside her husband Daniel Bryan which helps her to climb one place in the rankings.

#22 Kane (Previous Rank 21)

Kane’s buildup ahead of his match against Ryback at TLC took a big setback thanks to the losses he picked up this week. With the chairs stipulation in place for Sunday, the big red monster will have to do heavy duty on the big guy if he has to keep his place in the Power Rankings.

#21 Tyson Kidd (Previous Rank 18)

The winning streak of Tyson Kidd seems to have ended after he joined hands with the Swiss Superman, Cesaro. The tag team apparently has a lot of chemistry and talent in between them and if given the right push, they could turn out to be the backbone of the division but for that they will have to win unlike this week.

#20 Paige (Previous Rank 16)

It’s actually sad to see Paige getting pushed back into the crowd despite being one of the most talented divas in the division. WWE needs to find some good feud for the former champion at the earliest because the Diva of Tomorrow is too good to be wasted in random matches.

#19 Mark Henry (Previous Rank 19)

After the curious case of Brock Lesnar missing, the WWE Universe has found another instance they could pounce on thanks to Mark Henry. The World’s Strongest man has been missing after the Raw that followed Survivor Series and looks set to miss TLC as well since he doesn’t have a possible match.

#18 The New Day (Previous Rank 25)

WWE’s latest attempt at pulling off a successful faction is showing positive signs as the New day is getting over big time with the fans. The excitement factor and the combination moves are well executed by the trio and TLC will probably see their first big win in WWE when they face the Dust Brothers.

#17 Erick Rowan (Previous Rank 22)

The future of Erick Rowan poised a big question mark for the WWE when they decided to break up the Wyatt family. He was not as good as Bray on the mic and didn’t have the skills of Harper when it came to wrestling but the current run that Rowan is having against Big Show shows how much he has grown as a performer.

#16 Big Show (Previous Rank 15)

The World’s Largest athlete will face off against Eric Rowan in the first ever stairs match on Sunday and he didn’t have a great momentum builder before that clash. It was the baby faces who got the final laugh at SmackDown and Show is not really the favorite despite having a lot of experience over Rowan.

#15 Dust Brothers (Previous Rank 14)

Dust Brothers sparked a feud with the New day last week and that took the centre stage this time around as well. The numbers however didn’t go like how the creepy brothers would’ve wanted as the duo picked up losses in both Raw and SmackDown.

#14 Jack Swagger (Previous Rank 17)

The Real American stood up to Rusev once again on Raw and captured the Bulgarian Brute in a patriot lock. The segment made Swagger look like a real threat to Rusev’s title reign and he went on to replicate the feat at SmackDown when he defeated Titus O’Neil in a rare squash match.

#13 Luke Harper (Previous Rank 12)

Holding the intercontinental championship is apparently not helping Harper to climb up the rankings. He did stand tall on Monday Night Raw alongside his heel friend but got knocked out by Ryback’s shell shock on Friday Night. Harper will have a big task of defeating Ziggler on Sunday and if he doesn’t, he could slip further in the ranking.

#12 The Usos (Previous Rank 11)

There was practically no competition for the Usos when it came to winning the Tag Team of the year Slammy Award. They celebrated the award with a win over Tyson Kidd and Cesaro on SmackDown but the problem between Jimmy Uso and Naomi is looking to be blown out of proportion.

#11 Ryback (Previous Rank 13)

Ryback will be looking for an all-out destruction of Kane on Sunday and he managed to show glimpses of that throughout the week. He was instrumental in the SmackDown main event and even got the pin on Luke Harper. As a result, Ryback climbs two spots in the ranking and edge towards the top ten.

#10 Nikki Bella (Previous Rank 10)

The Divas Champion might’ve missed out on the Slammy Award but she did make quick work of Alicia Fox on Friday Night. She will be however be having some extra work on Sunday when the Championship will be on the line against AJ Lee.

#9 Miz and Mizdow (Previous Rank 8)

Miz and Mizdow suffered a big loss on Monday Night in the six man tag team match. Apart from the loss, the duo had a good solid week thanks to a Slammy Award win and some mind games over the Usos which came from the Awesome one working his charm on Naomi.

#8 AJ Lee (Previous Rank 9)

AJ Lee went home with the Diva of the year Slammy award this week and she dropped some big hints about a possible retirement from the company. But before that the crazy girl will have to lock horns with Nikki Bella on TLC with the Divas Championship up for grabs.

#7 Rusev (Previous Rank 6)

The Bulgarian Brute wanted to make a statement alongside Lana on Raw but was overshadowed by Jack Swagger who made a statement. Swagger all of a sudden is looking like a big threat to Rusev and TLC will certainly give the WWE Universe a lot to cheer about when these two clash.

#6 Seth Rollins (Previous Rank 7)

The Architect is finally making big strides to break into top five after he laid out John Cena on Raw. It was a great moment for Rollins before facing off against the Cenation leader on Sunday but despite all these, there is a huge factor of Randy Orton around the corner looking for the right opportunity.

#5 John Cena (Previous Rank 3)

The Cenation leader falls two places in the rankings thanks to the bump he took on Monday Night Raw. He was looking to get the upper hand over Rollins ahead of TLC but things didn’t turn out the way Cena would’ve wanted which reflected in the rankings as well.

#4 Bray Wyatt (Previous Rank 4)

Bray was at his poetic best once again this week when he pulled off a promo against the people who he wanted to make his followers. The chair incident has clearly brought out the vulnerability inside Bray and this will be there to be seen when he goes to face Bray at TLC.

#3 Dean Ambrose (Previous Rank 5)

The Lunatic Fringe jumps deeper into the top five ranking after he surprised Bray Wyatt with an ambulance. The promo that he delivered after that great entrance was epic as well and now Ambrose will have to back up his words with a win on Sunday.

#2 Dolph Ziggler (Previous Rank 2)

The Showoff has battle line drawn against Luke Harper for Sunday but fell to Rollins on Raw. it took nearly three men to hold him down for the three count which made him look good in the defeat as well. if Ziggler manages to win the title at TLC, he might even get to the top of rankings since the top guy is never seen on Television.

#1 Brock Lesnar (Previous Rank 1)

Brock Lesnar’s advocate accepted the Slammy award for most shocking moment of the year but still there were no signs of Lesnar himself. The champion not being there is significantly causing problems for the company and when he finally makes his return, it will be a shock indeed.
