WWE Monday Night Raw: 14th April, 2014 - Superstar Ratings

WWE continued riding on the momentum they gained after WrestleMania but putting up a Raw which earned a lot of praise from the WWE Universe.Shield was the focal point this week as they got some of their own medicine thanks to the reuniting of Evolution. The writers decide to throw in a tournament for the Intercontinental title as well while Kane found the monster which was lost inside the suit.Extreme Rules isnt going to be a good outing for Cena after it was confirmed that he will face Bray Wyatt in a Steel Cage match. The show wasnt all about Ultimate Warrior which was a good thing and the fact that WWE managed to woo the crowd without Daniel Bryan stuck out more. So lets take a look at how the superstars shone this week.

#20 Xavier Woods - 4.5

Woods was the unlucky jobber to the Bulgarian brute this week. Everyone has forgotten that he had some friction with Brodus Clay in the past and has ended up as nothing more than a lower midcarder to be precise.

The tag team with R-Truth is bearing no fruit as well and it was a very bad outing for Woods on Raw.

#19 Rhodes Brothers - 5

Cody Rhodes and Goldust took a great bump to their title dreams after losing out to Rybaxel. WWE deciding not to go with Rhodes brothers to challenge the title makes sense but it does no good to the former tag champions.

The much awaited Brother-Brother feud might be a problem solver and it needs to happen before Goldust retires.

#18 The Usos 5

The tag team champions had their moments against Batista and Randy Orton but once the match progressed it only looked like a repetition of last week.

Being overshadowed by the Shield also does no good for them and concentrating on the title rather than going against main eventers might be a good way to go.

#17 Alicia Fox - 5.5

Alicia got her TV time after a long time and made full use of it. She proved to everyone that she is one of the most underrated divas in the company by putting up a show that made Total Divas look like children.

She deserves more match time after this performance and is someone who could complement AJ Lee and Paige.

#16 Rybaxel - 6

WWE certainly is building up Ryback and Curtis Axel as the no.1 contenders for tag titles and the wins that theyve been getting is a part of that.

Still a lot of work needs to be done on their chemistry but they are the only worthy heel team in the division that could go against the champions.

#15 Dolph Ziggler - 6

Ziggler once again showed that he has all the resources to make it big in the business by delivering a great match against Bad New Barrett.

Its sad that the WWE still considers him only as a mid-carder when he clearly deserves a big push and the main event scene.

#14 Mark Henry - 6

Henry didnt have much to do this week than act as a road block to Cesaro. It was Cesaro who did all the work and he couldve even done that with a bag of cement at his hands. He shined in defeat as well and made sure that the match was top notch.

The Worlds strongest man is surely on a downward spiral at the moment and its going to need a very big push to make him a top heel that he used to be one day.

#13 Alberto Del Rio - 6

Del Rios graph continued its journey to the pits after taking a loss to Rob Van Dam. Despite having the technical skills to carry him, the Mexican struggles to find his foot and might consider heading back home once his contract ends.

He now has nothing to fight for after being taken out of the Intercontinental title scene and WWE should start thinking about giving him a tag team partner or getting the US title off the waist of Dean Ambrose.

#12 Paige - 6

After the short match with AJ Lee last week, Paige got a chance to show the fans what she is made of when she faced Alicia Fox.

Though Fox got more offense, as the match moved towards the end, Paige showed glimpses of her potential. The Divas division had a great match this week, and this might only be the start.

#11 Alexandre Rusev - 6.5

After making his singles debut last week, Rusev came back for another squash match this time. Keeping him out of the intercontinental title scene was a good thing to do.

But Rusev needs more meaningful matches than fighting the Xavier Woods and Zack Ryders if he is to look like a monster heel that he is.

#10 Jack Swagger - 6.5

Swagger delivered a great match against Sheamus but ended up in disappointment with the loss. He actually won the intercontinental title in a house show that happened and now he literally has nothing to keep him busy.

There were no mention of his feud with Cesaro which is not a good news for the former World champion.

#9 Rob Van Dam - 6.5

The fans were excited about Van Dams return last week and maybe Damien Sandow hid his flaws as well. But this week those were right out for everyone to see and RVD made the fans realize that he has some ring rust to get off his back.

He now faces Cesaro after the win against Del Rio and from the momentum Cesaro has now, the chances of Van Dam getting a win isnt that good.

#8 Sheamus - 7

The Celtic warrior defeated Swagger in arguably the match of the night. Sheamus hasnt been on a big role after returning from injury but putting him in the tournament benefits him.

However, he now has Bad News Barrett in his schedule which opens up an interesting battle since Barrett has been getting a good push after making his return last week.

#7 John Cena - 7

It was typical Cena this week as he was making fun of opponent with some impressive Photoshop works on the big screen. However towards the ending the sudden transition was a nice touch to the promo and now he has to worry about Bray at Extreme Rules.

The amount of verbal treat that happened in the feud was a treat to watch but Cena must explore new things if he doesnt want to look repetitive.

#6 Wyatt Family - 7

Like Cena, the Bray Wyatt was also doing what he does best this week. The amount of creepiness in his promo was sky touching as usual and capping it off with a match at Extreme Rules is going to be swell.

Luke Harper and Erick Rowan will be taken out of equation at Extreme Rules so WWE needs to invest them in some other feud instead of wasting some great in ring talent.

#5 Shield 7.5

Just when you thought that the hounds of justice are going to tear apart the Authority, Triple H countered by reforming the Evolution and took out the Shield in style.

The ambush worked well for the newly formed baby faces as they only fell down because of the 11 on 3 match which happened before it all came down. Each member of the Shield was projected as warriors fighting till their last breath and we are sure to see more of that in the weeks to come.

#4 Bad News Barrett -7.5

Kicking back Barrett into the ring was one of the best decisions that WWE made after WrestleMania. Last week he scored a win over Rey Mysterio but this week he put up a show against Dolph Ziggler.

The match had some great moments which reminded us that he has a lot of potential vested in him and with the win Barrett moves one step closer to the title that he once held.

#3 Kane - 7.5

And finally the mask is back on. Kane and his suit gimmick was getting stale and the decision to get him back on the monster side is refreshing. The video package that WWE put on after that made things more intriguing as well.

Daniel Bryan may have his date set for Extreme Rules after this as the other possible opponent; Lesnar was nowhere to be seen.

#2 Cesaro - 7.5

The match between Cesaro and Mark Henry wasnt that great as the other ones in the tournament to be frank but it certainly showcased the new Cesaro. He was excellent as usual and Paul Heyman is working his magic as well.

From the looks of it, the tournament might be designed for Cesaro to get the title, much to the misery of Big E.

#1 Evolution - 9

Its safe now to say that they are back. WWE dropped signs of a possible reunion last week itself and followed up strongly this week. Evolution taking out the Shield was a great moment in all prospect and the it was what the fans clearly wanted.

Extreme rules is looking a lot exciting now after this big return and hopefully they could get Ric Flair back in as well to complete the wolf pack.
