WWE RAW 31st August 2015- 3 things that did not work

Lana and Ziggler

Not Again!Raw was mostly watchable tonight. There were moments where you just wanted to tune off and those are the one we’re going to talk about in this list. Other than that the card for Night of Champions looks set and it seems better than ever with the focus primarily on Rollins pulling double duty and the Dudley Boyz looking for their 10th tag team title in the WWE. The Intercontinental Title is the only one that seems to be lacking some vigour. The Divas Division finally had something to care about as well. But here are the 3 things that did not work-

#1 The Saga

Lana and Ziggler

This never ending saga produced another series of moments which were quite immature and inconclusive. Rusev and Ziggler faced each other again after their double count out bout at Summerslam. Lana and Summer Rae had a clash again. And then, Summer Rae took away Ziggler’s clothes to leave the Showoff with just a towel. That leads to Lana having her doubts and this saga just took another turn.

Why o’ why are these four talented performers being put through this storyline?

#2 The Intercontinental Title

Ryback vs Show

Well, again, a match that we’ve seen countless times before took place on Raw. The Miz was also on commentary as always during the match between Ryback and Big Show. This was mostly filler. The Miz caused the distraction and the Intercontinental title still has nothing interesting about it. There is no excitement surrounding the contender or the champion.

This needs to quickly improve since this is the only title that’s the weakest, moving into Night of Champions.

#3 Stephanie McMahon\'s Role

Seth Rollins and Stephanie McMahon during the main event.

Okay, Stephanie McMahon is one of the best performers in the WWE. But if Rollins is set to turn babyface, Stephanie has to stop making so much sense. She sounded like the voice of reason tonight.

She even gave Cena a chance to assert his rematch clause and force Rollins to have two matches at Night of Champions. She stood there quietly when Cena told the truth about the Authority. Okay, everything led to interesting possibilities but tonight we had little sympathy for Rollins. That’s not something you want for a future babyface.
