WWE RAW August 18, 2014 - 5 Promising Developments

This was one of the best raw editions in a while and aptly so given that it followed one of the biggest PPVs that WWE has to offer. Some new feuds were set, some feuds were continuedand some very unlikely popularity emerged from this Sin City crowd. It was definitely a night to remember. Hope the glorious moments that took place in Vegas does not just stay in VegasHere are the five promising developments for the very near future.

#1 Rollins vs Ambrose

This was the main event on Raw. THE MAIN EVENT!!

Rollins and Ambrose delivered a match that was a million times better than their awesome match at Summerslam. Their match probably stole the show and will be the talking point for a while. It was a tremendous performance from both the superstars. This match showed how crazy awesome Ambrose is and credits to Rollins for selling every move that Ambrose executed on him. These two have a great in-ring chemistry and its such a boon for the fans that they saw these two facing each other this early in their singles career.

What was also great was the backstage segment where Ambrose poured an ice bucket on Rollins with reference to the ongoing ALS ICE Bucket Challenge where people donate money and challenge three other people to take on this particular challenge. This is sone to raise awareness about this disease calledAmyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

The pronounced look on Ambroses face after he did the deed was priceless.

This rivalry is quite possibly the most entertaining long time rivalry in the WWE right now

#2 The constant rumblings of Heyman

The best part about having Lesnar as Champion is Paul Heyman getting that microphone and having everybodys attention. Lesnar seems unstoppable and so does Heyman. The one who is going to beat the one in 21 and 1, is going to have one hell of a momentum. And at this point, Reigns does not seem like the one.

Heyman went on an don just the way he does and only Heyman can pull off something like that as a true masterpiece. You can just tell Heyman to recite the alphabets and hell still have the crowd interested.

#3 AJ isn\'t going anywhere

The AJ-Paige feud looks set to continue and that;s good news. These two women seem to be getting that in ring chemistry just right as time passes.

What also seems to be continuing are the CM Punk chants at AJ Lee, which is not good news. It isn’t funny. It’s rather disrespectful.

If people just get out of that zone, they’ll truly appreciate what these two women can do with the divas division. Both these women are incredible wrestlers and they can really bring back the days when womens wrestling was a thing to look forward to.

#4 The Intercontinental Title Feud

WWE finally in a way answered what was on many fans’ mind-When will Ziggler finally catch a break?

Sure he’s isn’t main eventing but just the fact that Ziggler walked the ramp exclaiming to the fans that ‘You did this’ was absolutely womderful.

And it seems this feud is going to continue and we have two characters embroiled in it who get the desired reaction from the crowd. Ziggler is the quintessential babyface and Miz is the perfect heel.

Strong gimmicks can really make things work as far as storylines and wrestling go.

#5 The tag team division

The Wyatt Family and Big Show and Mark Henry have great chemistry. The match between the Usos and the Rhodes Brothers as Stardust and Goldust got an amazing response as well. And the reaction to Ryback was terrific. He was in his hometown and he was welcomes like a hero and that brought forth the attention to the team of Axel and Ryback.

The tag division has been thricing for quite sometime now.

If only there were new contenders for the titles.
